#ABtalks with Yasmina El-Abd | Chapter 240 | مع ياسمينا العبد
I hate it for example when someone calls me Yasmin. I am Yasmina. Okay, Yasmin. Okay, peace be upon you. See you soon. Do you feel. that the profession you chose especially at. robbed you of a childhood. robbed you of a childhood. or a certain teenage life? or a certain teenage life? We’re supposed to be. a generation that doesn’t fear failure. But we make mistakes. We rush so much in. in our actions. What is your concept. from your perspective. of life. about love? How’s your relationship. with your mom and dad? but there is. an open conversation. I have never in my life.
felt embarrassed to tell them anything. I can't hold myself back. some mothers really feel. Like, ''I know everything in the world''. Like, ''I know everything in the world''. and they make their daughters feel small. If you could see. Your mom when she was young. What would you ask her? I am afraid someone. I love would die. Is there a way to reach peace. with the idea that everyone you love. will die? I will cry here right now. Hello. Today is an episode with a young lady. I don’t know whether to call her a star or a rising star.
maybe both. I wanted to sit with Yasmina. and get to know her, because. I think we only saw each other in El Gouna. - Right - Correct? Yes. and we didn’t get the chance to talk. So, I thought maybe it's the right time now. So, I hope you see. new sides of Yasmina. I enjoyed getting a Gen Z perspective. and Gen Alpha. and all of it at once. Don’t say Gen Alpha. Whatever.
But I don't know how you felt. No, I really enjoyed it a lot. I really enjoyed it. I had maybe a certain perspective of the episode. and it turned out much nicer. it turned out nicer than what I imagined. and honestly, I was very comfortable. I talked. I said everything that came to my mind. and I felt that I was able. to explain something. that wasn’t understood before. So, I hope that reaches you. I hope so.
So, those who love us, support us. and those who don’t love us, support us. and those who love Yasmin, support her. and who doesn’t love Yasmina, support her. Enjoy. #ABtalks off the bucket list.
before we start, what were you reciting? before we walked? You noticed that? I was. Saying a prayer, ''O my Lord expand. my chest for me and make my affairs easy''. and free my tongue so that I can express myself well. in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Nice. He noticed. Let's start. Let's go. Yasmina, How are you really doing?
I am good, thanks to Allah. I am happy. Happy, under quite a bit of pressure. but, I am happy with what is happening. I mean, for the time being. and I feel that I am. in a phase where I have started to. the hard work started. to show a little. So, I am very happy about that. and I mean,
there is a bit of pressure. but I am trying to deal with it. and I am learning how to deal with it. in a good way. I am in a phase where I am discovering so many things. but I am able to say. that I really am happy. Thank God. How did you reach that stage? What do you do to handle your life exactly? What I do so that I can deal with it? I mean, how are you able to live a life. that you can handle,
where you are not under pressure. no burnout, how? By taking it day by day. I used to. I always used to. taking everything in one lump or thinking about. For example, next month. and I sit and overthink, like there are a lot of. things I need to do. and I will not be able to do all of that. and I am not up to it. I am not up to this responsibility at all. and I realized that this is very wrong. because I do not know what will happen tomorrow. So, like take it. even hour by hour. So, I started taking everything step by step.
and slowly. and I will get there. This thing that I need to reach. I will reach it and it will come at its right time. and everything is fine, you know. So, I am just trying. to be calmer. This is the right way, I guess. There is. in English they used to say that. anxiety. is the conspiracy theories. your mind builds of the future. It’s all myths and imagination. Really.
It’s truly all in your head. Anxiety is imagination. Because anxiety. If it were about the present, okay. It’s normal to be anxious in the present moment. But thinking what will happen next week. Maybe this or that will happen. - These all are just theories - True. You’re supposed to be in control of your mind. So, being able to do that. That’s the hard part. Not letting these thoughts take over you. That’s the hardest thing. How. How can someone control. their mind? Honestly, I don’t know. I myself want to know the answer to that. Because these are really things you invent.
It might be something small. you turn into something huge. because you. your mind wants that, or you. I mean, you. You put pressure on yourself. and you don’t need to do that. So, I try not to think deeply about things. I mean, if for example. something. If I’m passing through something difficult. or a tough situation. That I would feel. pressured about. I try not to think in detail.
Like whatever happens, happens and that's it. So I try not to. obssess over the small things. wanting everything to be perfect. Of course, I’m very careful with my work. but since I was young. I always had that part of me that. is perfectionist in a way. that was unusual. not healthy. Because maybe. everyone could be happy and okay. but as Yasmina I might cry and not sleep. Because that tiny moment. That second or two, I didn’t. my voice did something. I didn’t do something right, or said the wrong word.
And I’d think, why? When I know it could’ve been better. Look, the issue. The problem with this topic. that it's a very. social media topic. What I mean? People tell you. Perfectionism. is something negative. but it has a positive side. People tell you anxiety. is not a good thing. but it has a positive side. Anxiety. In a small amount is enough. a little pinch of it. is important to have.
A bit of fear. is good. Too much fear that paralyzes you. That’s not good. Anxiety that stops you from taking a step. That’s bad. but anxiety that makes you cautious. and makes you say? Let me wear my seatbelt. when I get in the car. Because maybe. - Maybe there will be an accident - Exactly. That’s healthy. But because social media. attacks a lot of these terms. We say, ''No, you must not be a perfectionist.''. No, but because I am. a perfectionist. I say, add this camera.
No, the lighting. no, add. So, it's there. but if I ruin. the mood of the whole shoot. and all the content. - because of one light - It all gets ruined. Exactly. Here, it becomes negative. Of course. Okay, who is. Yasmina, when you're with no one? - With no one? - Alone. I mean, no family. no one, no one. Nothing? No one. You are by yourself in a room. Who is this person? Nothing. It is a hard question,
there is nothing. It's not. For me, family, is the most important thing in life. there is nothing more important than that. Honestly, nothing is more important. and I am someone, because I started. working from a young age, perhaps. So, my family. had to be there with me. Especially my mother, I needed support from the family. I cannot imagine that I would be anything without them. No, that's not the question. the question is your personality. behind the scenes. My personality? Yes, behind the scenes.
and behind. having your mom next to you. or your dad, or your siblings. You, without your friends. without anyone, if I had. a CCTV. Yes. On you. and you are sitting in a library or sitting in a park. What is this personality? Who is she, who is this? A personality. that has unusual ambition. that's thinking about so many things. My mind is working 24/7. I do not know. how to switch off what is going on up there at all.
I think about the thing I am going to do a million times. before I do it. I mean, Honestly, like. I do not know. how to describe it to you, It's someone. who worries about. the people around him a lot. Someone who loves. the people who. loves their family a lot. and is very afraid for them.
and is aware that. I mean, if they're not okay, then I am not okay. but without them, there is no huge difference, really. I do not need to. to change myself or do different things. around people I love. If I trust the person in front of me, I stay myself. a million percent. Maybe, I have a side that. doesn’t show much on camera.
the goofy part of me, that jokes around. a bit goofy. but nothing more than that, this is who I am. If I give you a bag, and I tell you Yasmina, put inside it all the emotions. and feelings you’re going through in this period of your life. and you close the bag. and I take the bag and open it. What would I find inside? You’d find anxiety.
You’d find pressure. but you’d find gratitude, and happiness. you’d find. excitement. I feel like these are the most. things I’m feeling right now. It might be contradictory, but. they fit together somehow. True. A human. Yes. It’s supposed to be a cocktail. Yes, but like. I don’t know, I feel like at certain stages some things. are more uniform, but right now.
Because so many things are happening, maybe. So, I am still processing. Like, We can add some shock to it. And what... is your best childhood memory? That’s a very hard question. I swear I tried to think of. an answer to that question. there are so many things, it’s a collection of things. Give me one. I was a child, who was never alone.
I was not a lonely child. Because I’m the youngest of my siblings. So, there was always noise at home. So, I never felt like. Oh, there’s no one to talk to. or I’m sitting alone or whatever. there was always noise at home. and at school, as well. I had friends. So, my nature as a child. I was shy. I mean, I wasn’t very outgoing. I had confidence in the things I loved. I used to do ballet. and I used to go to choir.
So, those things gave me confidence in myself. and I loved them so much. but other than that I was always the kid hiding. behind my mom. behind my family, and so. but I never felt like I couldn’t talk to anyone. or that I didn’t know how. to talk to someone, or. there was always some action going on. So, no, I was a happy child, thank God. My childhood was. very beautiful, thank God. But, what. is one of the most beautiful. Is there something... that really stuck in your mind?
You’d say Anas, honestly. one of the best memories that I remember, is this and that. Maybe, my mom had the habit. to take us out every weekend. every Saturday. She used to take us out for dinner and watch a movie. without exception. every Saturday. So, that was something. that was a routine. and my dad, we had a strong routine in the family. and on Tuesdays, every Tuesday was a half day back then in Switzerland. Wednesdays were always a half day.
So, it was Wednesdays. So, we used to go. to a burger joint. and he would always pick me up from school. he’d pick me up from the classroom, actually, I was tiny back then. He’d take me out of class. put my coat on me. and we’d go to the car. and there was. a tiny little restaurant. and we’d go sit at the same table and order the same thing. and then he’d give me a coin. there was a pinball machine. So, he’d give me two francs. I’d put them in it and play until he paid the bill. and then we’d go back home.
So, that was also a routine, that there was always. one day a week for my mom. and one day a week for my dad. and we were used to that. and we were always excited. The weekend is coming, we’ll watch a movie and so on. The worst memory from your childhood. The worst, it’s not a specific memory, it’s a period. that we went through as a family. My dad. got sick.
in 2014. I want to say. in 2014 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He’s fine now, thank God. but, it was a. very hard period for the family. and very hard on my mom. because in the same year, as well. my grandmother passed away. May she rest in peace. and her brother also passed away the same year. it was a very difficult year. Your brother? Her brother, my uncle. Your uncle. - Exactly - your mom’s brother. so it was a very very hard year. for her and for us. but my dad. I don’t know.
I’ll tell you from the very beginning. I’ll describe to you the geography of the family. I was born in Switzerland. and I was raised there. and at that time. I was. with my mom. and my siblings. we were living in Switzerland. my sister had graduated school. and wanted to join a university in Egypt. and my father was working. between Geneva. and Bahrain. so he used to travel and come back to us. but his work back then. was mainly in Bahrain.
From what I remember, they told us years later. that what happened was. My father called my mom. it was a Friday. and he told her. I feel very unwell, I don’t know what’s wrong. I went to pray. at the mosque and didn’t do anything today. since it's the weekend. So nothing happened, but I feel very tired. So, she told him. Okay, get checked tomorrow. if you still feel unwell. go get checked and let's see. what’s going on. Anyway, He was diagnosed.
at that time with. actually no, what happened before. my sister wanted to join university. in Egypt. So, my mom started thinking. I’ll be with the kids in Switzerland. Vidana would be in Egypt. and my husband in Bahrain. Impossible, We will all go to Egypt, sweethearts. and my father would then. travel from Cairo to Bahrain. and we’d still keep our things in Switzerland. but like it would be. more doable. So we moved in September. Why were you in Switzerland? My parents. when they first got married, they moved.
because my father’s work was there. and my mom also worked there for a while okay. So, they lived there around 20 years. and I stayed there until I was 10 years old. So, Switzerland then. then Egypt, then Dubai, then Egypt again. We moved to Egypt for a short period, I’ll tell you what happened. we started school. in September. Everything was fine. we settled, and then. My father got diagnosed in November.
And you were in Egypt? We were in Egypt. So, we didn’t know. and they didn’t tell us. Because, What happened. was that in 2014, pancreatic cancer. its survival rate was of course much. lower than today. we have many developments now. but the oncologist sat my parents down. and she said that. the survival percentage. would be 2%. and because, pancreatic cancer doesn’t show. you don’t feel anything until very late.
It was advanced. he was already reaching stage four. and above a certain age. they didn’t want to operate. or do anything. So, basically, it was like. you’ll spend some time with your family. and we’ll try to do what we can. Radiation or whatever it was. That’s life. At the time I was eight, nine. seven, eight years old. and my brother Yassin was twelve and my sister seventeen. we were young, It was like: What is this? What’s happening? and my father, God bless him. had his health. in perfect condition his whole life.
so it was a huge shock. So, they chose. not to tell us. They moved back to Switzerland. so he could get treatment. so that my dad could be treated. Because, they wanted to make sure there was some hope. that things would be okay. and not just give up. They wanted to make sure. there started to be some hope. and then tell us. So we spent eight months. my brother, my sister, and I. and at that time we were staying. with our family. They were taking care of us.
in Egypt. and we were living on Skype calls, eight months without seeing my parents. because they were in treatment, of course. and their whole world was upside down. and it was very hard, I think of course my sister knew. maybe not at the very beginning, but she was the only one who. knew that something was wrong, when Yassin and I had no idea at all. After those eight months, they kept saying it was work and so on. They were trying to come back, it didn’t work, my dad would get sick. so they had to stay. It was, a very difficult phase.
but what happened. was that when my mom heard this. from the great oncologist. who said those two sentences. She was terribly shocked that. the kids are still so young. How can you. not want to fight? Of course I want to fight. So, behind that oncologist's back, she went and saw a surgeon. Because she had said he was above a certain age. we’re not going to do anything, We’re not going to operate. We're not even going to try. So my mom said, over my dead body. and she went, and met a surgeon. and he said, listen. if you're ready to take the risk.
I'm ready to take the risk. Either we do the operation and he will wake. or he will not wake up. and it was called whipple surgery. It's a very difficult surgery. The tumor was wrapped. around the vein that connects. the kidney and the pancreas. So it was a very difficult thing. The surgery was supposed to take six hours. it took nine hours. and then he said. the surgeon said. I’m going to put him in the ICU. Because they know what to do if,
God forbid. anything happens. He came out of the operation. at three in the morning, he woke up. did what he used to do and here he is. but afterwards, so many complications took place. he got every complication possible from that operation, So, in total he had seven operations. Fourteen hospital visits. if I remember the number. and a day and a half of chemo. It was a. an extremely difficult period. So we found out,
They arrived to Egypt. and told us. once there started to be. a bit of improvement and hope that he will be okay. and we were also struggling. Because we were without our parents. for a very long time. and there was a huge shock between Geneva and Cairo. Like, what is going on? Our Arabic wasn’t that good, so we didn’t really know how to deal with things. It was a very strange period for us. and of course,
My mom, against her will, and my dad, against his will. They were there, we'd talk every day, but at the end of the day. they were in a very, very difficult place. So, we decided to tell them. we pitched the idea. that we wanted to go back to Switzerland. This won’t work. let us go back and change the atmosphere. and go back there until dad gets completely better. and then we’ll see what to do. and my sister then left the university she was in, she went to ACU. then she moved to England. and finished her degree there. So,
It was not the nicest period. and then, 2015 came by. and my dad was still. every now and then. he’d get unwell. and then my grandmother started getting sick at that time. so my mom was told, ''Come quick, your mom is in the ICU''. ''Come quick, Omar is ill''. and so on. It was a very, very difficult period of time. Do you remember that time or not?
I remember. things. like scenes, I remember scenes. I remember. the talk we had when they told us. that he was ill. and I remember when. we moved to Switzerland and I used to visit him. in the hospital. I remember. I don’t really remember the hospital itself. as much as I remember. maybe the room he was staying in. there were photos of us. I remember when I look at the photos. I remember walking him around.
on the floor. He had to walk every hour. I’d walk him and hold the thing for him. I didn’t understand. Yassin, maybe, he was twelve, so he understood. my sister understood. for me. for me, He’s tired, but he’ll be fine. because he’s my dad. So there’s nothing else. I didn’t understand what cancer meant. or what a person's death meant. like God forbid. but I just didn’t understand. what was really happening. So, I was fine.
but, for example, entering hospitals is very hard for me. even though personally I never went through anything difficult. and I never saw situations. like, traumatizing in an unusual way, but. entering hospitals is extremely hard for me. I have this voice in my head. even though I know it’s not logical. and I know this isn’t right. but in my head it’s like either someone. is born in a hospital. or dies in a hospital, nothing in between.
It’s very hard. For example, if I have to. film in a hospital, I get. extremely tense. I want to cry and I can't. Something, it's a bodily reaction. that I don’t really understand. it got much better. but, like, when I enter a hospital, I feel I’m not okay. I feel like I need to leave. and I get claustrophobic. the sounds, the smell, and everything. and when I go. back to Switzerland. back then.
he was treated in Lutry. not in Geneva. every time I pass by the hospital. my body shivers. even though I barely remember it. So, it’s something very strange. But it doesn’t mean it didn’t affect you. even if you don’t remember. it means it affected you. Yes, sure. It affected you somewhere in a certain place. How’s your relationship. with your mom and dad? Very good. Thank God. Formal or close? Very close. To both? To both. Very, very close. My relationship with my dad is very special.
I, sorry to my siblings, but, I am definitely the. I'm the favorite, I think. I adore him. If you did an X-ray. on my heart you’d find my dad’s picture. I adore him in a way. and we’re extremely close. but without talking. Me and my mom talk and go back and forth a lot. Maybe, when we would argue. and shout and everything. but if my dad. he just looks at me. with an upset look, I might not sleep.
I get upset in a way. and he doesn’t want to talk, He doesn’t want to tell me he’s upset. He doesn’t want to tell me. He has that thing. and I, Maybe, in affection. he’s improved a lot in. that area. when he married my mom, as well. He got much better with that. as a character he is. very stern and serious. and so on, and people are scared of him, He has.
that side, and. a unique kind of cadence. My mom is always kissing and hugging and everything. while my dad is very serious. They're a bit polar opposites. if you see them in public. they're a bit polar opposites. but they fit well together, I don't know how. May God bless them for each other. and the age difference, there is a big age gap between them. You feel like my dad is. like that with everyone except me. or with his family in general.
So, we talk a lot. he likes to open up to me, he likes to tell me things about his life. I feel like I really want to make a movie. I film him a lot without him noticing, honestly, Sometimes I ask to film him and so. Because I really want. to always have memories. with my family. I am someone. who films things. Like if he’s telling me something about his work. something he did in his life. his achievements. And whatever. I always like to film him. and to kind of keep. this moment and show it to my kids.
I love that a lot. and I respect him. in an incredible way. May God bless him for me. I love him so much. and my mom, I don’t even know where to start. I don’t think I will even be able to do that with my kids. the support that she. The support she's giving me, Even I myself.
cannot even comprehend it. and I thank God for it. but I don’t understand. how she is able to do that. How, to that extent? and I don’t know why she does that. Like, thank God, she believes in me so much. although at the beginning I had to prove myself a bit. but she believes in me so much. and is with me in every step. Like, to have someone. a support system. who also understands life. can think with you. we can talk back and forth and sit. we consult each other. and the family.
That’s a huge blessing, I am very lucky with my mom, thank God. We, I don’t know. I really don’t know if this is. definitely because of the way she raised me, But I, maybe more than. more than my siblings, I understand her so much. and I empathize with her in an unbelievable way. I empathize with her. as a mother and as a wife. and as a daughter. and as a friend.
Like I, maybe I don’t fully understand why she feels that. it could be something that has nothing to do with me at all. it could be something with my dad. with my siblings, her friends, etc... but I understand why she’s upset. and I understand the logic behind it. maybe, I cannot sympathize. but I empathize a lot. So, I feel that she understands that. and we're very close in this regard. She is able to tell me everything. and things that maybe. someone my age wouldn’t understand. but, I listen and I’m like. it makes sense.
Why do you film your dad so much? You went to the sensitive part. because. Look, my dad is a bit older, age-wise. So, I always have this concern, honestly. I always have this concern that I. I want to catch. I want every moment to be captured. in case I forget. and I don’t want to forget.
I film my whole family, but my dad especially. because, for example I. Like, my grandmother and grandfather from my dad’s side. I never met them, they passed away before I was born. may God have mercy on them. But, My aunt, filmed with a VHS. in the nineties. she filmed a whole movie. called ''El-Abd family''. she filmed the whole family. she filmed my grandmother and grandfather. and my dad and his siblings. the whole family. and I felt like. I need to have that.
so I can show it. to my children. and to my grandchildren. and to have that. and because I, I don't know, I’m scared of things. I’m anxious about things. So I want to have that. in my pocket, just in case. I feel. on one side. it’s beautiful and on the other. it’s sad.
You know? Yes. that a young girl. is afraid her father would die. I have a fear of death in general. For sure. That's perhaps my biggest fear. Especially the death of parents. Yes, that’s probably the biggest. because I, Surely I can’t enter someone’s mind but this must be the hardest thing. but this must be the hardest thing. for everyone. but I have, not just a phobia. and fear of it, I mean, I might.
I can’t even imagine. even a quarter. the quarter of a quarter. of this situation. Then, how... How does someone live with your head? a 19-year-old girl. the youngest in the family. may God protect your father. the surgery thankfully succeeded. - Thank God - But always. there’s an inner worry. that I must. take advantage of every chance with him. Yes, that exists. it exists a hundred percent.
Is this thing exhausting? Of course it’s exhausting. For sure, I mean. it's not the most pleasant thing to be. thinking on his birthday. You know what I mean? His birthday was a few days ago. and I got emotional. but God bless him, he doesn't show his age at all. He is very active. May God grant him health. I mean, He jokes and swears... He keeps going back and forth with conversations. and I mean, No, he doesn’t look his age at all.
God bless him. and everyone says that. and people really love him when they meet him. For me, personally. If you meet my father. that means you’re someone. I mean if, if I did it. on purpose, not by coincidence. then you’re someone. I really feel comfortable with. I really feel comfortable with. because his personality is very. specific, it's very particular. my father was an investment banker. in New York and, He was. the only Egyptian. I mean he was, he went through many things.
and so many hard circumstances in his life. that made him. very stern. and even, I mean, his personality is very unique. so for me, I become. I’m always stuck to him all the time. Whenever I can, I’m always glued to him. and when I am. filming and just saying hi and bye, it bothers me. I want him. I want to spend time with him. He used to play.
piano for 45 years. He loves music. We listen to music and watch movies and do. He is also very much into art. He has his own area in art. For example, if he gets. something on the phone. maybe he forgot a bit. how to play but he still remembers the notes. He can tell you. the name of the notes. He orchestrates and closes his eyes. I mean, he is. so many different things. and so gentle, so gentle. in an unbelievable way. So,
A father's girl. Yes, like a teddy bear. How is your relationship. with your siblings? also very good, thank God. Close? Very much so. To both? Yes. I mean, Yassin, my brother. he is the one who. He's the middle child. is turning 24. he will kill me that I’m saying this, He wants to be 20. He will be 24. and my sister Vidana. she is 30. So, the age gap.
between each of us is four or five years. and that's something really nice, because for example, if you think about school. four years middle school. four years highschool. so each one hands over to the other. after completing that phase. he would tell the one after him. Do this, watch out for this. This happened. and this will happen, so watch out. Nice So, I ended up getting everything. So, I mean I benefited from. their experiences a lot. and I learned a lot from them, I am someone. who observes and focuses a lot on details.
I love to watch. For example, Yassin and I went through so many phases. in our relationship. Like, okay. a new baby. my tiny little sister. I became an older brother. and so on. I grew up a bit, He's like, she's very cute. I have to protect her, and so on. Then the clingy Yasmina one he could not stand. like, enough, get off my back. Because I also, because of how much I adore him. and I love him to death. and I always want to know what is happening with him. and I was very much. the sister who wants to sit with his friends.
and know what is happening, I was always super clingy. and then like wow Yasmina grew up a bit, I can tell her a few things. talk to her, Yasmina really grew up. Now, we have become friends. I tell her everything, even the things we did not tell our parents. I tell her. I trust her blindly with everything. She understands me and I understand her. So Yassin, for me, my personality, I stole it from Yassin. if you sit with my brother you will understand. So even mannerisms,
I don’t know how. although I do not mean to. but from how much I observe him. and love him so much. and respect his decisions in life. I became like him. I became very much like him. and my sister. I always was like, Oh wow. I mean, She's an idol for me. Because the age gap between us. is ten years. So, even at school. I mean, everyone knew that we were siblings. and also with Yassin, I would always go to school.
and no one would come near me. because Yassin is my brother. He was very cool and stuff. and he was the crush. of all the girls. He was that guy. Of course, he still is. but he was the cool kid in school. So I always had this protection. and also from my sister when we were in school together. She. travelled early on. She was seventeen. and I was maybe, nine or eight years old, So she left. when I was little. She left the house. and worked straight away. and she was living abroad.
maybe she came back to live with us for a year. and then went to travel again. So, there were phases. where we were not really together. but we are unbelievably close. we talk to each other all the time. and I love her, I love her. with all of my heart. I mean, and she also went through. so many things in her life. so I always want to know what is happening with her. She does not always want to say, but I know. I mean I am lucky with them that.
as much as I may have been clingy. when I was young. but. now we have become like. like we really understand each other now. and we really trust each other. and know each other by heart. What is the trait. in your parents, you wish were different? Were different? In each one. maybe. in my dad.
maybe sometimes. I want him. to notice details that maybe he unintentionally does not notice. Details in. in things. sometimes it feels silly. and sometimes it affects me a little. Sometimes maybe, he's very practical. so he sees the matter from. from the big picture above. and he doesn’t really go deep into. the details that could be important.
Give me an example. Emotionally speaking. He might not notice. He is logical. Yes, I mean, he sees something maybe, a bit less three-dimensional than I would. but I’m a very emotional person. but sometimes, I feel that. I get what you mean, but still. there's this. like in this and that and that. my mom worries about me a lot.
I want her not to worry. She worries a lot. She worries too much. and she has every right as a mom. and as the mom of. someone in a field. that's not easy at all. but sometimes, I want her to just. take it easy. everything will go fine. everything will be okay, don’t worry. You raised me. and God willing all will be good. and you’re by my side. and I have good support. don't worry. she always wants the best of the best.
the important thing is that someone is with you doing that. but it takes a toll on her nerves. She takes it. very personally. and it can suffocate the child. - It could put stress - Exactly. - Both ways - Yes. It’s hard, because. there’s a metaphor. that our children. are like our hearts walking on earth. Our hearts outside. Truly. as long as you don’t have children. the heart stays inside. Indeed. When you have children. the heart walks outside. Right. So, imagine my mother says, since you were born.
She says, do you think I was only worried when you were babies? She says, now I’m even more worried. Because, is he wearing a seatbelt? God forbid. - an accident - extreme anxiety. a person worries all the time. especially the mother. I don’t think the father is the same way. There’s fear, but I think it’s different. So, it’s difficult. It needs practice. and it needs training. - to give our children space - Exactly. and the idea is that. I’ve always been raised with this mentality. We are not not trusting you. We just don’t trust the world around you.
Like you’re fine, we’re not worried. but after eleven you’re coming home. So these things, They trust what they taught us. and they trust our personalities. I mean, I maybe as Yasmina, I didn’t really have. the need to rebel. in a crazy way. I always was fine, not needing that. Yassin, because he’s a boy. and whatever. maybe he had. a bit of that side.
so at fifteen, sixteen, you’d find there were some sensitivities. Vidana, as well. she was a bit more private. She was very serious. in her teenage years. So, she was like. kind of rebelling. but not to the same extent. I mean, not really in a provocative way. So, they kind of. They treat us in a way I really respect. that it’s not. not, for example, not one rule for all. They don't generalize, right. They deal with each one individually.
his personality is like this, So this works with him, not with the other, so we see something else. Smart of them. Yes. So that’s something I, really respect a lot. because it annoys me, Like, okay fine, Yassin, this works with him. but honestly I’m not going to understand it that way. For example, with my sister. There was always, when they would tell us something. or a certain piece of information. My sister, for example, would say, it’s not necessary that I apply it immediately. or do it right away, but I heard you. at some point I will.
but maybe not this time. I, on the other hand, then the next situation whether it's a test of whatever. You know, or a challenge, generally. and I’m able to. apply that. I apply it from the first time. Yassin as well, goes slowly but surely. You lived in three countries, right? The Emirates, - Switzerland and Egypt? - Exactly. Describe each one in one word. Switzerland would definitely be calmness.
Dubai, or the Emirates, Opportunity. and Egypt, Settlement. How... When you were little, what did you want to be? When I was little, I started with wanting to open a dance studio.
and I wanted to be an instructor. and the second thing, was a singer, and then the third thing was an actress. Of course, there was also. “I want to be an engineer like my mom”. I want this and that. But basically they were always things to do with performing arts. How did you end up acting? I was. as shy as I was, I really loved the things that were related to theatre. I felt like I really found myself in it.
The slightly special thing about me. was that there were. people in the class. who were very good at drawing. but I was very bad at it. Very good at sports. and I was zero at that. but in this. What’s this? and I like it. I could be really bad at it. be terrible. but I like it. So even. at school they would. I remember the first time, like. What's this?
It was a solo then. It was a choral piece. and then it became a solo in front of. the whole commune, the whole city. or the small city that we live in. at that moment, I had lived three years in Geneva. and three years in Lutry which is between. Montreux and Lausanne. It was a small commune. shared by all the schools. and I sang a song, and at the time we were maybe. You're like twenty minutes into the show. so everyone got tired, and sat down. in my section. they sat on the stage. and I was the only one still standing.
I told them, what’s going on guys? Why don’t you support me like I used to support you? What’s going on? Then, I found myself the only one standing on stage. my heart was pounding like this and I could hear my heartbeat. the music started, so I sang. and my mom was holding the iPhone and crying. and my dad, too. was so happy. and I really enjoyed the moment, I loved that there was silence. I was happy that. I’m going to focus on one thing now. I’ll finish it then we’ll see,
but right now it’s just this one thing. and it’s like time freezes a bit. because you body is so tense. and you don’t know what will happen. but you have insane adrenaline. so it becomes, almost like an addiction. So you’re like, wow, that was really nice. even though my voice was doing really weird things. and I still didn’t know how to sing well. but, I liked the idea, and at the time there was this coach. She was Italian. who didn't speak.
French well, so, she would speak English. and I was the only one who understood English the most in the class. so, she’d go and tell my parents. she’s really talented and so on. and I was like, wow, I’m actually good at something. So, it was something that. felt nice to me. but as in acting. I used to watch. Disney channel a lot. and I used to watch behind the scenes. That fascinated me. So, I said I want that. At which age?
From six seven eight years old. that stage. I was a baby. Why do you act today? So many reasons. I love art so much. I love it a lot and I feel that this. the gift that God. gave me. so it would be a shame. not to take advantage of this opportunity. and there’s nothing else. I don’t feel. a connection to anything else. Singing?
I mean art in general. I love singing so much. but acting. maybe because I’ve done it more. I started with singing, yes. and I studied it, but. acting has. that you embody a character. and that you understand a character. from its beginning to its end. this is something. very strange. and something rare in the world. there’s no job like this in the world. What does your brain do when this happens? When you embody a character. What are you doing? I want to do and MRI.
to someone doing it. The subject is scary. It's very strange. And I don’t think. this was something. I was obsessing over. I mean, Does someone understand what they're doing? Like, does anyone understand... what happens inside your mind when you’re doing a scene? Everyone discovers. It’s a discovery. You discover and you play. and you try to find. new ways. and try new things. This is the most.
beautiful thing for me. and that you can deliver a message. in the simplest. possible form. and in the simplest way. So you’re doing something you love. but at the same time. you’ve done something for this world. Yes, you started early on. in acting. I think you did a lot of commercials. - Right? - Yes. I started with commercials. Until the first. serious job. How many years were you doing commercials.
Two to three years. - Two years - Okay. Do you see your life. as a normal life compared. to girls. and boys who were your age? No. Do you feel. that the profession you chose especially at. an early age. robbed you of a childhood. or a certain teenage life? I felt that when. I was fifteen. or sixteen years old. That was the period when I felt that way. Like, What is this? I could have done this and that.
Why am I not doing that? Why am I not able to do this and that? But now, honestly. it is totally fine. No, because I read that. you did. homeschooling. Yes. because it was a lot of pressure on you. you would go from school. sometimes you’d change your clothes in the car. and go somewhere else. Yes. I was trying to imagine this life. for a little girl. who is trying. in a tough field.
but. you started in the field early on. Yes. Normal kids finish school. go home and maybe play video games. Yes. but you chose something else. or maybe. your parents chose or you both chose it. but I mean. No, for me, until they agreed it took. tremendous effort. because we. I had been nagging since. we were living in Switzerland. There's no way in Switzerland. No artistic field. They would say. Okay my dear. Sure, etc... and they did not know anyone in the field.
There was no. clear entry at all. and they also didn't know whether I had. I mean, Do I have potential? Do I have it? Truly? I mean, Is there any hope in this girl? or just because I’m her mom I feel she. would be amazing. There was also. at that time, especially in commercials. I was. I didn’t notice that. but my mom would always ask. and talk to the director and others. Asking: Is she doing okay? Is she good? Should I help her with this or not?
or maybe better not? So, at that time it was like. I had to prove myself. so I could be able to do this. Of course, it was something hard. people at school didn’t understand what I was doing. Because there was still nothing to show. Okay, I do a commercial. that plays on YouTube and that’s it. I mean, there isn’t. The nuance of: She did something very cool!
and the teachers didn’t understand. so they didn’t help me at all. When I needed an extension. they refused the extension, So, nobody understood. what I was doing. So, there wasn’t. Anything like “Well done”. It was, ''Why are you coming late?''. ''It's not fair that she does this and I don't''. Even at school there was this pressure. So, when I became thirteen. I started homeschooling. Was it good? It was good. because I was able to focus.
on my work. but it was tough. Two years after that. The first two years were really fine. then things started to get a bit hard. when COVID started. I started, actually. almost at. the end of the first year of COVID started. but we had moved to Egypt. We moved to Egypt at the height of COVID. June 2020. Then, I felt very lonely. Even Zoom calls, I didn’t have Zoom calls with 30 students.
That’s when I really felt it. and I felt that phase. actually you reminded me, because. that phase was really hard because. Yassin travelled for university. So I had no one. I was only with my parents at home. I’m fifteen. and my brother whom I’m used to. seeing his face and arguing with him every day left. and the night he left. or the night before. The day before he actually left. I realised.
and I got a panic attack. God knows from where. I was fine, like okay. upset and everything. but “May God be with you”. ''Proud of you'' and everything. He was going back. to Switzerland a few months after he graduated. but, ''What is this?''. We grew up! I used to see you every day. Now when you graduate from university. you will find a job abroad. you will travel and get married. and have kids. and I will not see you anymore. This is the last time we live in the same house together. Vidana had left the house long ago already.
''What is going on?''. ''What is this?'' We grew up. and that's it, life has started. I am fifteen, nothing has happened yet. but I was alone with. my dad and mum. ''What is this?''. Nothing, just silence now. and I study alone. and there was no shooting yet. We haven't really gone back to shoots. So I was not getting many opportunities. There was no. This was a hard phase. Because I was always in my head. All the time.
because I'm alone. I would sit studying alone in my room. and like, You're not used to it. Yes. Yes, it was really awful. It was very awful. and it's still not pleasant. Still, Yassin now got. a job far away in the world. So, I felt like. Okay, fine you will. graduate from university and come. stay down with us until you find a job. Until this and that happen. God bless him. It was only two or three months. ''Bye bye, see you later''. So that's it,
It's weird to be the youngest. and suddenly that's it. It has. its perks at first. and then everyone leaves. so you are left like, ''There you go''. The eldest hands over. You know, there is a term in Arabic. in English. for the mom and dad. but it kind of applied to you a bit. Parents, when their kids. grow up and leave the house. they call it the empty nest. - or Empty Nest Syndrome - Yes. - Yes - The empty nest. Yes. You were the same with the parents.
Yes, exactly. because you are the youngest. and everyone left because you are the youngest. and everyone left. Exactly, I swear. I don't know what they will do when I.. May God help them. No, I cannot. I want to go into a philosophy with you. but I want to hear your opinion. You're Gen Alpha I think, right? What do they call it, Gen Alpha? or Gen Z? Gen Alpha, I think. Right? Gen Alpha, I think, right? Gen Alpha. - Anyway - Anas, Gen Z? Your generation. Let's say your generation.
Let us call you ''The genie''. Okay. So, I honestly. While I was doing the research in my head today. I am thinking. because I always have certain ages. and I like to vary ages in the show. like to have someone in their 80s. 70s, 60s, 50s, 40s, 30s. - All - Yes. and it's been long time since I sat. with a young woman your age. So I said, Anas. Let me hear from her. your opinion on some things. So I have a few questions. The first question. What is your concept.
from your perspective. of life. about love? Love for me. is respect. meaning that you feel comfortable with this person. and you can. be yourself with them. a million percent. as a life partner. You're not able to hide. a year at most and that's it. and that you feel your value. I,
whether it is. romantic or platonic, for me. if I don't feel my value in a place. or in a situation. I cannot. I cannot handle it. I do not know how to do it. and I mean, if I cannot just get up and leave. It shows on my face. I am the kind of person whose. What was it? It shows on your face. Yes. and I don't know. I can hold myself back. or my tongue but my face will expose me. Yes, I am an actress. but I cannot lie for a penny.
So, no for me. it is that you find. Love doesn't have a specific form. Because I was raised on that. Don't forget, my parents. and they had not. planned for that at all. They did not plan to continue together. but they met. and it was coffee before breakfast. It was very early. My dad was coming back from travel. acting cool.
and they loved each other so much. or like, What I mean is it was not love at first sight. They were very comfortable with each other. never ran out of topics to the point where. had breakfast, lunch and dinner together. It was in a hotel. and they started moving around. I swear. They spent a full day together. It was respect and friendship. before it was love. So, I cannot tell you that. I have something. specific in my mind. or a certain image in my head. or I want this. Because what God wants will happen.
I might in my head be. imagining something. rosy and everything. and what comes is something else but better. much better. Okay then, what do you feel? Today, we have a phenomenon. of relationships. that fail a lot. a very high divorce rate. Right. What do you feel. that makes. the world we live in one. where most relationships do not last?
I feel that people are not. people get married very young. I am not against that. I mean, I actually want that. but the idea is that. because I. I have done many things since I was young. or I have been through a lot. maybe early on. So, I know myself. I know my limits. I know what I can tolerate. and what I cannot tolerate. Of course, I mean. There are things I will understand more.
and there are still things I will discover. but because. I have been working since I was young. or been put in adult situations. dealing with people older than me. all the time. more than people my age. and most of my friends are older than me. So, Even in my work, I could very easily say. that at this age. you're always embodying a character. you don't get the chance to know yourself. That's true. but also you go through very hard things.
that you understand yourself in situations. I might go through. that an average person. would go through when they're thirty. So it might be that a person does not know themselves. They jump straight into something. and then you give it five years. and realize it wasn't what you want at all. so you cannot handle it. or they don't have. the mental readiness. It could be pressure from the parents. It could be, This is still there.
by the way, in our generation. this is not something only in the generations before. This is something. still very present. It can be things. where the girl’s personality is maybe not. not the strongest, her personality is a bit weak. She is put in situations and then grows up. her personality gets stronger. and now. She cannot handle this. Okay, but now we have gone around in circles. I mean, You said you're not against early marriage. There are people now from this generation. Especially Gen Z. getting married at 21, 22 or 23.
Yes. many of them do not even last a year. Yes. What happens. in your opinion. that they can't adapt. or not able to grow. or are their views and expectations. far from reality? That's why they get shocked? It's life experience. there isn’t enough life experience. So you might be, your expectations. are very rosy. Expectations. they're expectations, not reality.
So you plan for something. and say, ''Let’s go''. and it might really be. because they love each other so much. but there is no foundation. So it becomes like. we love each other. What are we going to do? We have to get married. and so on. Then we discover, ''Oh, wow''. There are so many things. That are not working here. So, We’re supposed to be. a generation that doesn’t fear failure. or doesn’t fear. making mistakes.
that we make mistakes. But we make mistakes. We rush so much in. in our actions. So, I feel like. But we can say. 50 years ago. Most people didn’t know each other. but they used to get married. And they stayed together more. Maybe. They know themselves... Maybe some of them, There are people of all kinds. I can’t generalize, There are minorities, for sure. It could be. Sometimes they might be high school sweethearts.
And they got to know each other. Like fifteen or sixteen years. then got married and stayed together forever. They never left each other. But there is also. the idea that. Or maybe also from. the man’s side that he wants. to be responsible but he can’t yet. So he can’t do that. And the girl isn’t. able to tolerate. Something she doesn’t want to tolerate. I mean, I feel that it comes from. life experience. You don't know yourself enough.
What’s your favorite color? My favorite color. I love green and purple. Choose one. Why? Currently, what's your favorite color? Purple. Give me three reasons why purple. Because it looks nice. It reminds me. It looks nice. - It looks nice - What else?
It reminds me of my mom. She wears that color a lot. She wears that color a lot. And. I don’t know, really. Why purple? I love it but not that much. Purple is more complicated. Complicated, okay. What's your favorite dog? Dogs, I have dogs. No, not the one you have. Don’t think of the dog you have.
Which animal in general? Is it the dog? Yes, I really love dogs a lot. Three reasons why. Because he’s affectionate. Affectionate. And he listens without talking. Okay, not talkative. He won't answer back. No, no. He is really. It is an energy. Okay, that's two. It’s nice that you.
See him through. All his stages. Because like. You see him as a baby then you raise him. Something you take care of. But fish are the same. Yes, but the fish. is boring. Okay, the color. Because. we were talking about self-discovery. The color is you. How Yasmina views Yasmina. She finds herself pretty.
She finds herself. Complicated. And you see that you remind yourself of your mom. What is that? And the animal. Is the ideal partner. Your ideal future partner. Affectionate. He listens and has good energy, doesn’t talk, isn’t talkative. And the third point. is that you love going. Through all the stages with this person. Yes, that's true.
What is that! An analysis. Give me all the cards. What’s up auntie Nagwa, all good? I’m taking care of your daughter. Don’t worry. She said something but I didn’t hear. I didn’t hear. Her voice came out loud. Okay, these are a bit faster questions. and cute. Both philosophical and light.
What’s the emoji you use the most? There's. This heart. - With hands? - Yes, with hands. and. the one that's. one tear falling. The one with sweat or the tear? No no no, the tear. The tear, yes. How old would you be. if you didn’t know your age? Wow, that's a really nice question. I don’t know, What do you think? I don't know.
No, I can answer but first we ask you. If you didn’t know. Your biological age. How old would you feel you are? Maybe. 23, 24. I swear to you by God, It was the same number on my mind. Really? I swear to God. I was going to answer 23 before you did. - Really? - Yes. 23. What fear or insecurity did you suffer from. or still do? One we know, is hospitals now.
It could be anything? Anything. I will go to something very silly, Insects. All of them? Yes, all. You did not leave one out? - No - Not even mosquitoes? No. I hate mosquitoes. Me too. They love me, that's the problem. Exactly. That's the problem. One sided love. Honestly, on my face. - On my face - God bless.
They're very horrible. I don’t like snakes and those things. I don’t like them. I am very afraid of them. Do you have any insecurities about your looks? Of course, definitely. What are they? This is an important question. because this. - No, I mean there's a lot - Like other girls. Girls these days, a lot. You know, I will diverge now. I will add to this topic. What is scary. in our world. of social media. that. People are showing. Their best, edited pictures.
Exactly. but the mind. Doesn’t process that all of this is FaceTuned. - Photoshop, and airbrush - Exactly. It says, oh. On the magazine, How beautiful she is! Her body is perfect and so on. So you program a whole generation. on perfection. and perfection. Who in reality are not perfect in life. but you think. that you are lacking. and you look wrong. and your body is weird. Even though their bodies are weird. Go see them in the supermarket. you'll see a different person. Catfish. So, what do you feel?
Has this affected you? that made you doubt your looks. No, the thing is I was not focused on that at all. I mean, I was. raised on that. That there is no, Don't focus on that at all. At all. And my mom used to tell me. When I was little. so that I don't look in the mirror for a long time. She used to tell me. if you look in the mirror for a long time you will go crazy. You will go crazy and so on. So I used to be scared. Until I was twelve years old I was mentally retarded. I swear I thought this was really a thing. That if I looked I would go cross eyed.
Not knowing what would happen to me. So I was afraid to look in the mirror. So I would not focus. but because, of this nice artistic field. You get filmed and they do. The photos come out and you look like this. So you start to focus on. the details. For example, the thing I used to hate the most. was my teeth. And then I got Invisalign. So they started to be a bit fixed. So it became less. My ears. My nose. Bigger than my ears? A bit big. - No, come on - A bit big.
You want them even smaller? You would look different. By God, and they're pulled back like this. But if it were smaller you would look weird. Although everything. that's how God made it. It fits well. My dad should have interfered about the nose and ears. My face is like my mom. but let him interfere with this one. So, yes. And how can you. make peace. Have you managed to make peace with your looks? Of course, what can I do? I am afraid of anesthesia. so I am not going to do anything to my face.
I am afraid of hospitals. If it did not need anesthesia or anything. a fifteen minute operation. I am scared. No, I am scared. because. I am afraid it will not match with the rest of my face. and God, you know. I might fix one thing and then. It does not look right. That's the case with most people. Everything ends up ruined. - Do you get me? - Right. and I have not. I have not seen. My mom, God bless her. She has not done. any surgeries. She does not like that. And my sister too. So I am afraid that. I get into one and then end up.
dragged into it. It is a cycle. that's not nice. A habit you would like to change in yourself? Bad habit. I was not like that but I became obsessed. with me checking. my phone. I check what's going on. Like news or? Social media or WhatsApp? Both, yes. Everything. I want to not be. I do not want to be. You know when you feel. that need.
Even if the phone is not there. You say, let me check my phone and don't find it. I don't want that at all. I am very scared of it. I get scared of myself. Because I used to be normal. And I turn off notifications. So I open the application to see. Me too, I don't have notifications. Yes, I turn off notifications. So I need to open the application to see what's happening. So I get dragged in. I have this habit. A situation where you were very embarrassed? One.
I said I was MC-ing something and I said. The name of a very important person. I said it wrong. and it was really. aomething embarrassing. Because there were very important people. present. And I had an iPad I was reading from. and I said it wrong. and I did not correct myself. I felt. Imagine if you were in his place. That's the worst? I hate it for example when someone calls me Yasmin. I am Yasmina. Right. I hate when someone calls me Yasmin. I said. Until today, I still think about it. Okay, Yasmin.
Okay, peace be upon you. See you soon. What do you do when you get angry? Against my will, Either I grit my teeth hard so I swallow it. or I explode. I explode in an abnormal way. This way or that way? It depends on the situation. - For example - No middle. Like if I'm in public. You keep it inside. I would never show. or I might say that.
I cannot stand myself. but not to the point that I scream. I might go home. and throw something. I really. sometimes when. the situation is really hard for me. and I have been holding it in for a very long time. I might, yes. - Explode - Yes. What is the most expensive thing you have broken? There was a time when I was little. I used to ruin. all my brother’s devices. Poor him. I would spill tea with milk. I mean a new laptop. that was 5 days old,
I spilled tea with milk on it. I broke. his phone. Poor thing. That's why he went to study abroad. Exactly. Exactly. But, Yassin. I mentioned bottling up in front of people. I got used to something, of course, our parents raised us on that. He is one of the people who showed me this clearly. He highlighted this thing. in my mind. That we. in front of people. We are a unit. There is nothing. No matter how much we cannot stand each other.
No matter how we have just had a huge fight. In front of people we do not show it. Right. So, this for me is something. I will raise my kids on. Right. There are so many reasons. Even for couples. - Even for any partnerships - Exactly. When was the last time. you did something for the first time? Today I am filming #ABtalks with you, I have been thinking since I was sixteen. Sixteen years old, how?
One day when I have an #ABtalks interview. I will say this and that. But of course all of that. was thrown in the trash, How? You have been thinking of it since you were 16. - Yes, since I was 16 - Three years. Not for 16 years. Three years ago you were three. How? No, since I was sixteen. For the first time. It is the first time I talk about things. There are so many things I have never said. I was very scared to say them. I used to say I will never in my life say this. but I said it. Leaving it to God, then.
No it is fine. You didn't say anything weird. What is something. no one knows about you? Or that surprises them. People are surprised that I. joke around and so on. Maybe I appear. And I realized that this is actually true. but I do not mean it. that on shows or. In interviews in general. I come across as very serious. Maybe because I don't want. people to take me. I do not want people to think I am shallow.
Or that I. ''She loves acting so..''. No, I take it. I do not want anyone to see me. as someone. who is just playing. or someone like that. I understand, I mean. I study the craft. And I want to understand what I am doing. I always work on myself. Always, always. I never quit that. So, people are surprised when they see me. Behind the scenes. acting silly, you know. Is there something. people do not know about you?
Other than that? I do not know. What could people not know? You used to collect insects? At the time. until you developed the phobia. Yes! I have. I do not think I said. I do not think anyone knows. I have something called misophonia. What's that? Misophonia means. They say it is fear but it is anger. at sounds. of chewing and eating sounds.
Chewing. when someone coughs or. This, never in my life. Really, I do not feel anger. Like this about anything else. I could get up and punch someone. I am barely holding myself back. Can you imagine I put on headphones. I really cannot. I feel. It exists and many people have it.
They get really annoyed. by the people closest to them. If a stranger does it. If they make a sound. If they chew gum for example. It might be okay. If my mom does it. I ask her. Mom not now, I am stressed. Please don't chew gum, really. And in the restaurant? I end up hating myself. In the restaurant? In the restaurant, if there are sounds around me. I do not notice. But if I am in a restaurant and aware of it. I get all grumpy. The point is I genuinely hate myself for doing this.
to people around me. They're not doing anything. you are a human being and you are eating. I am aware of this and I know it. but against my will I want to punch you. How do you eat? Don't you make sounds when you eat? No, it bothers me sometimes. but, if you are the one doing it. It is selfish. I do not know what it is, even though I am not selfish, honestly. I understand. But it is something. something very strange. And it started when I was thirteen. I remember the situation when it happened. My mom was eating next to me. She was eating salad. I remember. What is that? What is that sound? No, don't do that again.
And since then. From that day? Before that I was fine, I did not pay attention. Then I focused on it, I do not know, we were. sitting in a room. with no sound. Soundproof, obviously. We were in a studio I think. She is eating salad. I didn't understand, I didn't know why I am annoyed. It is honestly the thing I hate most in life. Can you treat it? There might be. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I still have not done it. I feel like I would really.
be going to get treatment because of this. You know what I mean? It is really bad. - It is fine - Really bad. If you could see. Your mom when she was young. What would you ask her? What do I ask her? Not what would I tell her. But I, I have so many photos. And so many videos and I keep showing everyone.
I wish I could ask her because she was. I want to know. The logic that was behind that because she. I had this feeling too when I was 16-17. Now, it's all I can think about. But she. she had it. and she told me. When I was talking to her about this. She said, me too, don't worry.
I used to think I would die young and whatever. So I want to ask her. Because for me my mom. was put on this earth to be a mother. She is very good at her job. She's an engineer and everything. She started a new bachelor's degree when I was one. because she wanted to. She is here to be a mom.
She is made for it. She is made for it and I feel like I have some of it. from her. I mean I have this, I have this dream. Like okay, acting. and everything, my work is important. But if I. If God grants me that, then I have finished the game. If God grants me that, I will have done, everything I dream of. at this stage. for this stage. God willing. So I want to ask her.
What is your impression? that's a good question. The three most beautiful things in life? Family. Food. And trust in your Lord. Trust in God. Because to be sure.
In God and feel that you really. can do anything in life. Do everything you wish for. The three ugliest things in life? Death. or like. The death of family. That you feel that you. did not do your part. You feel.
a sense of guilt. I know this failed because I did not do my part. You keep blaming yourself. The third thing. The first one who startled you. It startled me. I hate to think about it. I really don't know. It is very awful. and I saw my mom losing her mom.
It sucked. It's not nice at all. and when. when someone close to me goes through that too. it feels like it happened to me. I cry at funerals exactly like them. I understand that it is the cycle of life.
but I pray it doesn't happen. I do not know what to tell you. It is not. It will happen. The third thing. I do not know, that you. heartbreak but not necessarily in the romantic way. just heartbreak in general. in a relationship. in relationships between siblings. - True - God forbid. If something happens to them. that someone still exists but, for example. has not passed away but is still there.
It's very painful. What is something you try. to understand about yourself until now? It's actually nice that you. understand my l anguage and dialect. You're going well. See? Of course. I used to play Emirati commercials. Right, you lived here. You forgot. and my best friend. is with me today. from the UAE.
What was the question? What's the thing you're still. trying to understand about yourself? I am trying to understand about myself. It is something about. maybe not about my personality. but am I able to do this? Am I up to this responsibility? What do you think? I don't know. Sometimes, it comes and goes. Sometimes I feel like I.
I do not focus. I try not to think of it. and sometimes I am just sitting alone. I start thinking. What.. are you not? We need to see. Either you find a solution that. you become okay with that. a bit confident in yourself. because it is very hard. or we find a backup plan. But a back up plan. There's no backup plan. There are things that support. I am a very pragmatic person. and practical, so I know.
my limits in this field. and like I'm telling you. I want a family. So, it is important for me to have. For example, a business on the side. Let's see where art will get me. It will become clear. You are young. and if you started making money. and fame. You can take that money and start a business. Exactly. then you get a decent customer from the business.
and romantic. and you say I will marry this one. You marry him. You have babies. and you say. Okay, I will do one movie a year. Exactly. That's the dream. We're fine. That's the dream. That's the story. I just hope I find the person. Oh goodness. You have to open a shop. When I open one, you think? He will be a customer. but it does not have to be a shop. A grocery store is fine. Okay, good idea. Good idea.
If I don't do it in real life, I'll do it in a character or something else. What type of woman. do you want to grow up to be? Definitely, my mom. but. Yes, my mom. Really my mom. I know that I. but. The thing is she. is the kind of. women who. managed to balance. everything in her life. and nothing ever fell apart. and I saw her in so many different stages. She went through many stages that.
she pushed hard in. she pushed hard at work. studies. kids. in different things. but she never let anything fall behinde or be. less than the other. For me, that's the hardest thing in. How did you do that? It's insane. There are lots of people I look up to. but for someone to. She is literally everywhere. at the same time. She does it. How? There is something.
I always compared life. and the responsibilities of life. to juggling balls. - Yes - Like the circus. and the skilled person does not. drop the balls, right? and someone taught me. a better trait. to a higher level. He said.
So, your mother. May God protect her. Obviously she knows. the crystal balls that shouldn't fall. Her priorities are in order. her priorities are in order. I love to ask this question a lot. If you could teach. every child in this world. just one lesson. What should every child learn? One lesson from you.
Don't feel that you're alone in what you are feeling. Don't feel that you are. ''I am the only one who feels this''. No, everyone feels the same. Everyone has the same feeling. the feeling of doubt. pressure. I do not know what I want to do. I do not know who I am. I do not know what I love. I do not know. the idea that I, and all the subtopics that come along.
with the idea of not knowing. everyone feels the same way. So now when I feel that. Logically, I mean rationally. This is a nice lesson. If you have a dinner table. You, Yasmina, with three persons. Alive or dead.
It's okay. and you all understand each other. my grandmother and grandfather from my dad's side. The thing is. my dad always tells me that. my grandmother was Turkish. May God have mercy on her. She always talked using her finger. She was an extremely elegant lady. My dad always tells me. She would have been over the moon about you.
She would have been over the moon about you. My grandfather too. May God have mercy on him. So, I want to sit. I want to sit with them. I want to sit with them. and ask them about my father. and about themselves. and I really want that so much. I always think about this topic. that. my sister met them. and my brother I think met my grandmother. May God have mercy on her. she passed away after. her husband. So, I really want that. because he always tells me.
that I'm very similar to her. and also my grandfather would have loved me so much. and from the videos and things I have seen. The third person. I do not know who it would be. I want to see this so much. I want to see. these relationships. how this one used to treat them.
and he was one of. I always asked him. all the details. Did you address them with ''Sir and Mrs.''? or what did you do? I am. I have unusual curiosity. Strange. about everything but especially this part. nothing more than that. Strange, you did not choose. any celebrities or anything. I thought about it but then I was like. Fine, I will just watch. their biographies when they're out. I mean, I want this so much. Now, #ABtalks question. You and luck.
Come on, Yasmina. Mix. Let's choose one for you. Okay. Mix. Mix? It's easy. Okay, give me. Do you know the game? No. We'll give you a copy today. Oh. Choose one. My God grant me luck. Give me, I will read. Oh, sorry. No, it is fine. Anyway, I'll answer it.
When I ask the question. Throw this. This shows the style of the answer. How have your values changed. over the past ten years? Since you were nine? - How? - Five years. I didn't hear it. How have your values changed from ten years ago? Throw. on the floor. Story. We want a story. How have your values changed. even if not ten. we can, because you're a baby. We can go with five.
They have not changed. I do not know, they have not changed. Have any of your values changed. over the past five, seven or ten years? Something you expected. As in basic principles, no. and you said no. I changed my mind. That's not the right way. I do not know. maybe I was. very hard on myself. about big things and trivial things. Like, I don't need to rebel. I don't need to be stupid and silly.
and I know that. I will not be like that when I grow up. and I will never say that. and I will never do that. So, I learned never to say never in my life. Really. because God knows. what will happen. I do not know where I will be in five years. I do not know. I am saying now. I can say now. I. Like I told you. I really want to have a family. In five years maybe. Maybe in five years. God forbid. I don't know.
You never know. Maybe tomorrow something will happen. and like. my point of view on life is completely different. So I really learned that. To never say never. Really, one should never say I will never do that. and I will never say that. you really do not know what will happen to you. I say: Don't say. I try not to use two words. Never. and always. Yes. I'll always. You never know, that's what I'm saying.
I'll always. be the type of person. to do that... You never know. and the proof is in the pudding. There are some stuff I said about. Never ever I'm going to say a bad word in my life. No you are fine, I am controlling myself today. I curse a lot. Today I am quiet. When cameras go off. What are you afraid of? I know one thing. You know many things.
You say it. You are afraid of death. Yes. and insects. Do you fear your own death? Or you don't care about the idea of your death? I used to. Oh my God. I used to be scared of that a lot. But that was when I was a child. Because I did not understand it. and I thought it hurts. So I was. I mean of course we do not know but like. I used to feel it was. the worst thing in the world. and oh my God. But now, of course, I am afraid. I mean, I'm a bit anxious about it. because I am still young. and there are things I want to do, but.
Timing is timing. That's it. I am afraid someone. I love would die. That’s the hard part. because you left me alone. How am I supposed to deal with it now? But I feel the topic really occupies your mind. Even though you’re young. All the time. Yes, look. - But, it’s exhausting - All the time. - Exhausting - It is. Is there a way to reach peace. with the idea that everyone you love.
will die? I don’t want to think like that. I’m not that extreme. I. It's fixated on two people in particular. - Mom and dad - Yes. Of course, my siblings too. but, I didn’t live. the kind of relationship. our relationship is also different from. the usual relationship. because I was homeschooled. I don’t disappear for eight hours a day.
and then come back for half an hour. and I have extracurriculars. and on weekends I go out with my friends. and see them. only morning and night. I see them all the time. They became my friends. Not like. The usual ‘'I will do this or that’'. Even in the details. I don't need to ask. if I want to buy something. I have this freedom. I don’t have. There is obviously a sense of authority. but it's a different sense of authority. A sense of authority to ask for your opinion. and I ask permission.
for the big things, but. because they give me freedom. and I always had. that freedom. Okay, I worked and made some money. I'm able to. They advise me. invest in this, do that. but also if I want to go crazy. and so on. So, our relationship. is completely different. our relationship truly.
and then I realize. and then I talk again. So, it is not the normal thing where. and then I find work. and then I don’t see them. I mean I’m with them in every step. and they travel with me. and do things with me. I’m stuck to them and they’re stuck to me. It's so weird. It's really so weird. I mean, Because it's like.
It's the two pillars. It's really the two pillars. It's just how it is. and I’m extremely devoted to them. but there is. an open conversation. I have never in my life. felt embarrassed to tell them anything. I can't hold myself back. For example, I might be. coming out of a situation. and instead of thinking. Okay, I need to. just organize my thoughts. and I'll present it and package it in a nice way. The moment I enter the house. I go, A, B, C.
There's this. and also. When I was a child. and then the whole bullying wave started. People started talking a lot about bullying. and how some. kids harm themselves. because this happens so much. from bullying. because they didn’t tell their parents. This was something that really occupied my mind. and drove me crazy. How do you not know how to tell? How do you not know how to talk to...
How? This was something that really bewildered me. So mine is a very unique. relationship. with the two of them. where it's like. we truly. only have each other. and even for them, like my dad. worked for. his whole entire life. and then he retired. and my mom is with me all the time. So, we. we're always together.
and that’s it. Yes, yours. is. one in a thousand. if not more. because most people. feel shy, or afraid. or worried. or they don’t even have a friendship. with their mom and dad. - Most of them - I can't imagine. Most of them are jealous of your relationship. because they don’t have the same. dynamic at home.
So, they don’t understand. what you're saying. This is strange. What's this? How do you. talk to your mom this way, so casually? Indeed. - This happens a lot - How do you communicate? For example, I. even if there’s an argument. with my mom, like I told you, I don't. We shout, argue and talk. No, you did this and you did that. and my dad sits watching. calm down, this and that. So, I remember that. So, it's not to the point where it's like. sometimes we need to sit down and organize.
the priorities again. because keep in mind. that it's like three different relationships. You have the friendship. and then you have. Let's say. manager and talent. and then you have. mother-daughter. but the most important. is the mother-daughter. True. So, there has to be respect. She knows many more things than me. but at the same time. She should, in some areas. She needs to put herself in my shoes. It's a lot of pressure. True. It's the.
immense pressure. What is the most hurtful thing. someone has ever said to you? and you never forgot. It wasn’t something about me. I don't really want to say what it is. but it was something she said to herself. But I don't know who it is. So you can say. You don't have to say who. No, it was. Do you mean. something my mom said? No, not your mom. - Anyone - Any person. Even if it was a teacher.
or someone at school. The most hurtful thing. someone has said to you. and you never forgot it. ''You don't have what it takes''. Can you share who said it? Teachers. You don't have what it takes. You're not going to do this and this. You're not going to be able to. This drives me crazy. God will tell me, not you. Right. You know what upsets me about doctors? Doctors do that. The oncologist.
They tell you that you have a year. You have a week. Do you know, after my dad got better. They went to the oncologist. They said: ''How dare you say something like this?''. I find it extremely arrogant. It's horrible. As if you can predict the future. I, this topic is sensitive for me. because I sat with many cancer patients. or any illness. So many of them. have proven the theory wrong. or the prediction. made by that stupid doctor. Who told them,
I don't know where he got that forecast from. Many of them went back to the doctor later. and said: What were you even saying? So, I have. a sensitive point about this. Why? First of all, the patient. is in a very sensitive state. for you to tell him. You die in two months. you killed him. If he has a weak personality. - You killed him - No hope. If his personality is stubborn. maybe he's one of the ten. who will say: I'll show you. I'll start going to the gym and trying to eat healthy. That's one person.
in fifty maybe. - The usual - Forty-nine. You killed the hope they had. They feel like they're dying every day. So, this really upsets me. and that's what actually makes him die. That’s why I’m telling you. and I prefer. a doctor who says. your condition is very difficult. most people might not be able to continue. but I hope your case will be different. Exactly. That’s how it should be. That. Because if he survives. He’ll say. The doctor used to say “God willing,” you know. He gave me confidence that I could do this.
The oncologist told you that, but the surgeon told you something else. Will the oncologist operate on you? No. It’s the same thing with the teachers who told you. Exactly. - I, maybe - It's not up to them. I was raised to think. you can do whatever you want. If you try. and if you work hard enough. you can do it. Why are you the one saying this? as long as I’m not. as long as my parents are not against it. The ones who brought me. into this world. and are not. believing in that. How do you tell me that?
Suppose I’m this or that. Then you, I mean. But it's fuel. I take it as fuel. Before, no. It used to bother me. and I used to feel like. Do they have a point in this or that? I would believe anything. Now, I really take it as fuel. If that’s the case, fine. Who is the person. you turn to the most. in difficult situations. when you're mentally exhausted?
My brother, a million percent. You go to him, right? Yes. Because Yassin. will do one of two things. I might be rambling. Like I’m rambling today. For an hour. and I sit and talk. and cry and laugh. He stays quiet, doesn’t say a single word. and I feel okay. He really knows how to listen. It's one of two things, when he feels. He knows how to sense how I feel. whether this call is just venting.
or if this call is a “Help me, Yassin”. I need. help with this. and what to do. So, he solves all my problems. He solves all my problems in every sense of the word. Not like, I. I think this is better. or I guess it’s this. No, ''Yasmina, focus, you'll do 1,2,3,''. Nice. Because you are such and such. And he is a person. Like I told you, because I took. the experience. I stole his identity basically.
We are alike. That’s how I see it. He's a very influential person. and he got two of his friends to convert to Islam. That's how. His best friends. without doing anything. for me, when you trust someone. blindly. and especially when it's your blood. That's the person, who, for me. I can talk to about anything.
If I have a problem with mom. It's difficult to have. If I have a problem with dad. it's difficult to have a conversation with him. I can him tell about anything in the world. My sister is the same. the idea is that Yassin. his logic. is not normal. He solves my problems. I might feel like the world is ending. I want the earth to split open and swallow me. Then I have a new zest for life. It's ridiculous. Do you express your appreciation. and your love for the people you love?
So much, oh my God. - So much - You're expressive then. Yes, yes. I say it, do it and show it. But I say it a lot. What are the things that in general. you say, because generally. we praise the people we love. more behind their backs than in front of them. That’s normal. No, I do. I say it to their face. No, I do it. Both? On the same level? Of course. but I like to tell the person. I like to say it. so that he knows that it came from me.
and he looks into my eyes and sees that it’s real. Nice. I don't like that someone. ''Yasmina said this about you''. It's nice. Oh, that's so nice and I love her... But, to tell someone. I respect you a lot. and like, even big professors. I adore them and. I'm a huge fan of. I can't imagine. For example, I met Sherihan. at the opening of the museum. I cried. I cried to her in the room. I have never done this.
with anybody in my life. and I don’t have that part of star shock. that fangirling. I don’t have it. I really love people. and I’m like: ''What is this?''. and so on. No. that was a meeting. I don’t want to say. I want to savor the thing. but. an unusual meeting. extremely unusual. and I have a t-shirt. with her face on it. I adore her. So, when someone is for you.
an icon you grew up with. You always watch them. actually knows you. and tells you things you will never forget. It's a very special moment. and they said, someone told me, ''Sherihan. told me she loves you. and everything. I started screaming in the room, of course. ''You don’t understand how much I love her''. and so on. but when I met her and looked into her eyes. No, you can tell it's genuine.
and she doesn't need to do this. She didn’t need to do that. She is Sherihan. She didn’t need to do that. But it was clear that she put effort. Now, I have. the first chance. the chance for you. to give me a message from your mom.
Who is your mom? Tell me. Describe this woman to me. and what she means to you. A woman who went through. the hardest things. so many trials. You would never see it on her. but she went through things. you would never imagine. the amount of things she went through. and she.
understands life very well. Very smart. but aware. that she is a human being. There are mothers. I've seen. There was this. with my mom. that. I know you are. older and you have more experience. and everything, but. There was this part. No, I know better, etc... Recently, it's been happening all her life. but she's showing it more to me now.
That she's aware she is a human being. some mothers really feel. Like, ''I know everything in the world''. ''and you know nothing''. and they make their daughters feel small. I know everything and you don’t. I tell you what to do. but she. listens a lot. and understands everything. she understands. what you will feel. very well without saying it. She will know why you feel that way. and where it comes from.
and it could come. Like, she knows how to read people. very well. So, she will know you. you said. that sentence. because when you were little. Do you understand? She has that. and she loves so much. She loves with all her heart. Wholeheartedly. With all thy heart. And your father? Describe him for me. He is also someone. Who will understand you more than you do.
He will understand you more than you do. and he will know how to show you that. without telling you that. a person who is. very straightforward. He doesn’t like beating around the bush. If you're upset or happy about something. You want to say something. say it, get to the point. and tender.
very, very tender. not with everyone. but, when he wants to. he becomes very tender. in his actions. and in his words and everything. If you saw. stuff like text messages on Whatsapp. The chat isn't like. Checking on you, are you okay? My Oscar-award-winning princess. I love you so much. I hope this and that happens. Send flowers and emojis. He's hilarious. So, he has. He's very affectionate.
and he's very emotional. Even though he will never show it. but he's very emotional. and he. He won't show it in the sense. that when he's upset. But if he wants to cry. about something, he will cry. He will just cry. He will tear up. and when he feels proud of me he tears up. and. I have a video. where he is blowing the candle. looking at me and my mom. He wants to shed a tear.
So, that’s it. Love him a lot. May God bless him for me. and grant him a long life. My dear. Amen. Is he going to watch the interview? For sure. He is excited for it. I told him to watch. And what. What do you feel. your father, may God protect him. and grant him a long life. and your mom too. and health, not just long life. health with long life. Oh God, amen. What do you think is important.
for you dad to hear from you? That you did what you had to do. You did what you had to do a million percent. and I don’t feel that you. are missing anything. or anything that you didn't do. You did everything for me. I mean. you, The day when, God forbid. but the day this happens. Go peacefully. knowing you did what you had to do. for this whole family. You took care of us. and you took care of.
the people you love. You did things right. and if you made a mistake. it’s not something that hurt me. I haven't been traumatized by him. Thank God. It's pain from worry. Anything that bothers me from my dad. is from worry. Not because of something he did. No matter. maybe he made mistakes. but he's always. been extremely devoted to the family.
and to my momd and everything. He might be. passing through the hardest things. things at work and in his life. and so on. He’d be suffocated and frustrated. but that never affected. his will to do what he had to do. and even more. for this family. You really did everything. You should have done and more. and wanted to. and you did it.
You spoilt us and did everything for us. You did everything. So, rest worry-free. No, I feel like he has this concern. but I don't think he should be concerned. You act strong. Do I? The tears aren't coming. but there's something in the room. Do you spray something? There's something in this room. I’m saying I won’t cry. God willing, I won't. because these things I’ve already thought about.
if this were something new to me. probably I would've gotten emotional. but these are things I think about all the time. I understand them and know them. and I talk. I talk to him about them. He knows this. I don't look for tears, necessarily. I look for rawness. and vulnerability. and if the tears. come with that, they come. and if they don't. I’ve never been this vulnerable in my life. on camera. ever, ever, ever. Never in my life.
I'm doing this now. But, I don't.. No, you're fine, Yasmina. I mean, it's. honestly, it's nice. freeing. - Good - but. life could have been completely different. considering the things. my parents went through. because they were both cycle breakers.
They went through so many. traumas in their lives. This is not my story to tell. but they went. through extremely hard things. in both of their lives. In every single aspect of their lives. They've been very challenged. So, we could have turned out. completely different. We could have. become totally different people. they could have too. but the two of them. they made a decision. it ends here. So, yes.
I come from two very strong personalities. So, not. there is definitely. a bit of weakness in my personality that I feel. but I also remember. How did I.. when both of them turned out like that. So how would I turn out? So, I take a lot from them. I absorb, I'm a sponge. around them, because. Truly, the things they went through. taught me personally. things as if I was the one who went through them.
The more we talk. the more they tell me everything. and they're not afraid to hide anything from me. as if I went through those things myself. Therefore, there is. imaginary life experience. Do you think you're strong? I think I'm strong today. I wasn’t before. No, I used to be scared. I don’t know the old Yasmina. I know this one. So, hopefully we continue like this. Honestly, I feel like today. I mean, these days I. I mean,
my personality. has really developed. a lot. without me realizing. but it happened and I can feel it. I no longer just. I don’t know, I used to. accept things. but now, maybe because. I am trying to prove myself. I don’t know. maybe because I am trying to prove myself. and maybe people started seeing that. I really work very hard. I kill myself.
Look, I will tell you my perspective. on Yasmina. and I haven’t even watched a single movie of yours. nor any series. nor singing. Honestly. I’m not saying. I did something. that I didn’t do. I hope to watch. especially “Lam Al Shamsiyya”. because many people praised it. but it's time. So, let’s stay away from all that. Yasmina, you are incredible. God bless you.
I’m not just flattering you. Thank you. It's very nice of you. for someone who is nineteen years old. you are a lucky person. that your Lord destined for you. this family. - Thank God - Your brother. your sister. I don’t know them. but it’s obvious. The two pillars, Your work ethic is high. Your heart is pure.
I will cry here right now. So, all I tell you is, keep going. I swear. That's it. - I'll try my best - You're going to reach. many places. Why did I bring you on the show? I mean, I could have had you on. maybe a year ago. six months ago. I believe in timing. and. I don’t know. but you came to my mind. I was speaking to Farah.
I said, contact her now. I feel, you are on the verge. of a big takeoff. and even if I am point zero. 0.1% of this push. I'll take it. So, keep going. Keep going. put your head down. Don’t let anxiety eat you up. and paralyze you.
about your mom and dad. May God protect them. - Whatever is written -Oh Lord. make use of them. to the max. make use of their presence in this world. because we're all going to lose our parents. all of us. your mother, my mother. my father, your father. all of them will leave. So, the only thing we can. remind ourselves of is to make use of. the blessing we are in. to learn from them, to make them feel loved. and you have become a mother. I don’t know. if you noticed, you are kind of. a little mom at home.
I'm sure you understand. you play this role at home. you take care of your mother. you take care of your father. Even. in the message for your father. You said that. That you’re okay, don’t be afraid. So this, is motherhood. You’re thinking with very motherly energy. So, make use of them, put your head down, work. and my feeling. is that you will take off.
if everything goes right. May God bless you, thank you. This is a huge honor truly. Truly. Only my opinion. It means a lot. - Really - Just my opinion. What’s on your mind? I'm happy. I mean, I'm happy. I mean, I was very excited for this talk. I feel that. I said what I wanted to say.
I didn’t think. I didn’t put. a filter on my thoughts. The way I usually do. I didn’t filter like, ''Don’t say that''. I just talked, that’s it. Good. I came here leaving my matter to God completely. leaving it in. in the hands of a brother. Indeed. Last question. Yasmina in one word.
This is the hardest question of all. Half of it, I believe. and half of it, I'm manifesting. Continuation. Okay, but why. half of it is manifesting. Because, I hope it will. I hope that.
I will have the. characteristics. that will. allow me to have that. I mean, I hope I will. be able to do that. that I have the energy and patience. and all those things all my life, because. I want to continue. in everything. Not only in work. I mean, in life. I don’t want anything. That I go through to break me. to the point where. I will always be walking with something broken.
Of course, there is pain. I will go through. But like they say, Pain doesn’t get smaller, but you. you just start to stop feeling it. It comes and goes, but I don’t want my personality. I want it to grow or. to get stronger. So, that. I can handle. God willing, God doesn’t. burden us with more. than what we can handle, but.
I want to be confident. and know inside me. even if it’s a small feeling. that I can handle what’s happening to me. What do you feel. is the biggest thing stopping you. from reaching. your full potential? What’s the thing you need to make peace with. So you can fly a little. I'm worried about. I’ll tell you with complete honesty. There will come a time when I grow up. and my mom will get tired of me. Either she’ll leave. or I’ll be the one trying to. but not, She'll always be here. I mean,
on a day to day basis. I’m scared something might happen. What's the point. of thinking of that now? There's no point. It's a pointless theory. It is pointless. but I'm worried. because I, There's 10,000 different scenarios. There's that saying that goes. If you wan to make God smile. Tell him your plans. Indeed. There's no point. There really is no point.
In the beginning of the episode. You said I go day by day. - Apply that - Indeed. Going back to that. No use at all. Scenarios change. Right. You focus. Anas, I'll do this these six months. I will do this in three months. Focus. Don’t think what will happen next year. Half the things that happened in your life in 2025. you never even imagined. Of course. Like the exhibition, or the museum. or Sherihan. Of course. Definitely. You just focus. Things will come.
You know, They say, You can cross that bridge when you get there. Yes. Cross the bridge when you get there. Very true. You'll be fine. With God's will. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much.
