We begin tonight with the breaking. news and the Lindsay Clancy murder case for the first time. since the mistrial. Tonight we are now hearing from members. of the jury. It was outside Boston, Lindsay Clancy admitting. to strangling her three young children. The defense claiming she was suffering. from postpartum psychosis. The deliberations hinging on reasonable doubt.

Well, tonight with the jury foreperson is now. revealing about the lone holdout juror. And tonight here, the ABC News exclusive with Lindsay. Clancy's defense attorney now asking President Trump for a. for a pardon for Clancy. ABC's Aaron Katersky leading us off tonight. - Tonight, for the first time since the trial. that transfixed the nation ended in a hung jury. - I don't feel I have any choice but to declare a mistrial. - We're hearing from members of that jury, including the foreperson who told NBC 10 Boston. the lone holdout voiced his doubts about Clancy's guilt,

but voted to convict her of murdering her children anyway. - He had reasonable doubt. He admitted he had reasonable doubt and then he said, but. I'm still not going to say that she's not guilty by. reason of insanity. Eleven jurors were convinced Clancy was in the throes of. postpartum psychosis and not criminally responsible. But this juror says the holdout could not be swayed. We had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay. viciously killed her children. In an ABC News exclusive, Clancy's attorney,

Kevin Reddington, telling us he understands. Clinton's the emotion on both sides. It's easier to say she's evil and throw her. in jail and walk away. But she's not evil. Redington is now calling on President Trump to grant. Lindsay Clancy a pardon. He has the power to pardon her. And that's what I'd like to see. Trump actually lacks the power to pardon Clancy, who's charged by the state. But it comes as the district attorney, Tim. Cruz, weighs whether to retry Clancy for murder. And we ask, could the president and this request of a potential.

pardon influence the DA? Maybe have some influence over Tim Cruz? Well, Tim's a Republican, so you never know. And tonight, Clancy's attorney is also speaking out in defense. of her ex-husband, Patrick, who's been vilified online. He was by her side. He talked to these doctors. He told one of them that you're turning her into a zombie. And he was with her literally days after and forgave her. I think what's happened to that man is reprehensible.

Patrick Clancy's attorney now promising there. will be consequences for those on social media. spreading outright falsehoods that Patrick. was somehow involved in the death of his young. children. Whatever happens next, Redington. says he hopes this tragic case will be a catalyst for change. Is there a good outcome here? No, maybe the social implications would be good. There might be other women that will be able to get. good, solid medical care. Maybe the United States will come out of the dark ages.

as it comes to grips with women that are going through. postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis. If Clancy's retried, David, her attorney told us he. hopes it's for something less than first degree murder, which could allow her case to be heard by a judge. instead of another jury. David. All right, Aaron Katersky, who has. covered this case from the start for us. Aaron, thank you. Also breaking tonight, federal investigators. spoke just moments ago about that deadly. plane crash in Miami and what they've now. revealed the cargo plane overshooting the runway.

at 128 MPH and what we now know tonight. And this evening you will see the. dramatic video showing the pilot jumping from that. burning plane. ABC's Victor Oquendo with the news. conference. He's from the crash scene tonight. Tonight, you're looking at the. dramatic moment, a pilot jumping to escape that. crash cargo plane moments after it barreled off the. runway in Miami, slamming into two vehicles and. bursting into flames, leaving five people dead. You see the pilot jumping from an open door, falling to the ground, before running from. the burning wreckage.

Tonight, Abraham Altomare, telling ABC News. he witnessed the crash, saying one of the. pilots came up to him. - He was like in this position, and like on the floor, and he was like shaking. - The pilot borrowing Altomare's phone to call his wife. He was saying like, "Hey, yes, I'm good. Tell my mom that, yes, I was in the. accident, but I'm already out of the plane. I'm all right.". He mentioned something like, "Oh, my career's over.".

First responders pulling the second pilot out of. the cockpit windshield. Crews searching for survivors. Is there anybody else in there? Finding a person trapped under a vehicle. Rescue! Yo. We got one breathing. Tonight, authorities identifying the five men killed, ranging in age from 47 to 75, saying they were all. in a cleaning crew van crushed by the plane. We'll provide a full readout of the cockpit. voice recorder tomorrow. We do have questions for the pilots.

We do have an interview scheduled throughout. the day tomorrow. Then we can provide that information and hopefully. supplement what we see in the cockpit voice. David, the sheriff's office says the pilots have been treated. and released from the hospital. Here is that moment again, one of the pilots. jumping out of the plane. They have been identified as Joseph Carroll and. Jaime Felipe Silva Molina. Tonight, three victims remain in the hospital. David. Victor Oquendo in Miami. Victor, thank you. now attacking at least five Iranian. Tonight, Iran now saying it has captured a U.S. unmanned sub and underwater drone. showing it on Iranian state TV. And here's Rachel Scott. Tonight, the dramatic new image is just coming in. The U.S. ramping up attacks on Iranian oil tankers, hitting. five ships after firing on three tankers over the weekend. The U.S. calls the strikes a response to Iran shooting. missiles at American warships.

With the war now in its seventh month, today. President Trump sang this. They've been punished greatly. As you know, we've really taken it to them. But Iran giving no sign of surrender. Today announcing they captured a U.S. underwater drone. State TV broadcasting these images. An American official telling ABC News the drone had. malfunctioned, describing it as an older model that neither. collected sensitive data nor carried any. classified sonar or radar equipment. As the war escalates, Wall Street reels, the.

Dow plunging more than 600 points as the price. of oil nears $100 a barrel. And for Americans, the price at the pump surging. Today, the average price for a gallon of gas is $4.17, up 123 since the start of the war. Tonight, Americans are also feeling the impact. of President Trump's trade war with Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney imposing tariffs. on $20 billion worth of American goods. after President Trump imposed steep tariffs. on Canadian goods.

We turn now to the state of emergency. Hurricane Lowell slamming Hawaii, winds more than 100 miles per hour. And these images tonight, a second system sending massive. waves crashing into the California coastline, damaging homes, forcing evacuations tonight. underway in Hawaii. After Hurricane Lowell slammed the islands with 100 plus. mile an hour winds, 30 foot waves and nearly a foot. and a half of rain. This is the part of the storm that officials are the most. concerned about because it's this historic surge coming. in along with the high tide. Overnight, we saw cars bobbing in the storm surge as we. hunkered down in our hotel. The sand pushed ashore by that surge, filling the. hotel hallways, trapping vehicles in their tracks,

daylight revealing widespread damage from storm surge. and wind. This car impaled by a two by four. And Hurricane Lowell is not the only tropical. storm wreaking havoc in the West. Tropical Storm Marie bringing towering. waves ashore in Southern California, despite being. hundreds of miles offshore. This home in Dana Point decimated in Long Beach. At least 20 homes along the seawall had to be. evacuated Monday because of damage to the concrete.

This entire driveway in Malibu collapsing into a. sinkhole, rupturing a gas line and a water line, likely due to. all the erosion from the waves. And David, back here on Kauai, this is a look. at the aftermath here. You see this road has completely buckled. It happened when that storm surge rushed over this berm, sending water through the road and over there. Normally, that is dry land. Now, the big concern here is these ocean conditions. They will remain dangerous for the next couple of days. David. Kena Whitworth and our team. there, we sure do appreciate it.

Thank you, Kena. Tonight, the Kremlin revealing President Trump speaking with. Vladimir Putin, the two speaking for about an hour, according to the Kremlin. The Kremlin saying the call was, quote, constructive, with President Trump pushing for a swift end. of the war in Ukraine. Putin claiming Russia does not have any aggressive. intentions toward Europe. Their phone call follows a visit to Moscow by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared. Kushner. They also met with. President Zelensky. Following those talks, Russia now resuming airstrikes on Kiev. least three people killed, 10 wounded. Back here now to the grim discovery off.

the Bahamas, four family members killed in a small. plane crash. Their own relatives say they had to. recover the bodies of their loved ones on their own. Here's Giovanni does tonight. A florida family says they had to rely on. themselves to recover the bodies of four relatives. killed at sea in a plane crash off the Bahamas. The five-seat twin-engine Piper took off from. Great Harbor Key Monday morning, bound for Miami's. Opelika Airport. On board were 80-year-old Mario Lamar, who. was the pilot, his 79-year-old wife, Lily,

and two grandchildren, 22-year-old Christian. Sosa and 28-year-old Sophie Sosa. Flight data shows the plane circling. the Bahamian coast Before vanishing about 13. miles west of Andros Island, there were thunderstorms. in the area at the time. The U.S. Coast Guard joining the search. Bring them home. Family members racing out in their own boats and. sending out a desperate plea. We're asking for everyone out there to please help, whether. it's by plane, by boat, any signs that you've noticed. Hours later, the family releasing a statement.

saying they had recovered all four family members'. bodies themselves, writing, "Our relatives. had to bring them aboard their own vessels.". And, David, authorities in the Bahamas say. they're investigating. The family says they're working with the U.S. Coast Guard to bring their loved ones. home safely and with dignity. Tonight just days before the 25th anniversary. of 9/11, officials in New York City releasing. a trove of documents about the air quality at Ground Zero, which they say shows city leaders misled first responders. and the public about hazardous conditions near the site. People got sick because the leaders they trusted. lied and told them they were safe to breathe.

in toxic air. New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani ordering the. release of 170,000 pages of records, including. air quality reports, contamination data, and. communications between city officials. Mamdani saying they show city leaders. knew dangerous toxins were present near Ground Zero, while. publicly maintaining conditions were safe. The air quality is safe and acceptable. In one memo from October 2001, city officials expressed.

concern over potential lawsuits related to toxic exposure. from those who returned to the area too soon. Another document from July of 2002, 10 months after the. attack, showing the presence of asbestos on a building facade. several blocks from Ground Zero. Comedian and activist Jon Stewart has long. advocated for 9/11 victims. There was poison in the air and on the ground and. in the windowsills and in your air conditioners.

and covering your pets and your clothes and it. stayed there for months. Everyone knew. David, this ends a lengthy legal battle over these records. but then dropped two of them as they made their escape. Those paintings are worth millions.
