A terrifying shooting inside an elementary. school in Virginia. Also reports tonight of an unfolding scene. outside Minneapolis right now involving multiple victims, including police officers. First, the school tonight. Police say a 19-year-old gunman forcing his. way into the Westwood Hills Elementary School. This is Waynesboro, Virginia, opening fire on his way to.

the library. Police swarming the school within minutes, the school on lockdown, a child saying she was. hiding in the closet. ABC's Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas. leading us off tonight. A terrifying scene unfolding this morning at this elementary. school in Waynesboro, Virginia, after a gunman forced. his way inside. On this operation, we're at Route 548, Officer Avenue in Waynesboro for an active shooter. Police say a 19-year-old man armed with a gun. somehow broke into the school and made his way to the library.

The suspect injuring a staff member. who sustained a non-life-threatening. gunshot wound. A six-year-old female involved in a school shooting. She was shot in the lower leg and once in the torso. Police swarming the building within three minutes. There they located in the library the suspect. dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were no students in the library at the time. The school quickly placed on lockdown, students. sheltering in their classrooms.

Today is, excuse me, if you don't get emotional. today, you never will. Today is a day every school system hope they. never have to deal with. Outside, anxious parents in the small community. forced to wait until they could reunite with their children. It didn't really take them very long. It took them like 10 minutes to get there. because I was just standing in the closet. Late today police identifying the. suspect is 19 year old Anthony Ignatius Isabel.

Tonight it's unclear why the gunman chose that school. David, so scary for that small community. Students were only three weeks into the. school year. The school year just beginning for so. many schools across this country. And Pierre, while we have you tonight, we're also following an unfolding scene right now. These are images coming in from Minneapolis shooting. their word of multiple victims, possibly including. police officers. I know our justice team is working. this story. So, Pierre, what have we learned so. far tonight? David, we know there are at least seven. gunshot victims, including two police officers.

We're now told that one person is. dead. Police are asking people to stay away from the area. Pierre Thomas leading us off here on both fronts. tonight, Pierre, thank you. Also developing at this hour, there is a tornado watch right. now for parts of New York State and a severe thunderstorm watch. for parts of the Northeast as we're on the air, damaging. winds and violent storms possible in the coming hours. 40 million Americans under severe storm alerts tonight. That tornado watch across parts of New York from Buffalo to. Rochester to Syracuse, and now severe thunderstorm watches.

in the Northeast, winds up to 60 miles per hour possible. Lee Goldberg standing by, he's tracking the storms and matte. rivers with the images already tonight. Tonight, with a tornado watch up in parts of New York. State and severe thunderstorms taking aim. Millions bracing for damaging winds and torrential rain. Oh boy. 80 mile an hour winds slamming Parksburg, Pennsylvania. Ominous clouds swirling overhead. Oh my God. Thunderstorms and lightning delaying this.

concert in Philadelphia, fans huddling together, daylight revealing the destruction, that massive. tree smashing through a home in Mantua Township, New Jersey. Delays piling up at major airports including. JFK, LaGuardia, and Philadelphia International. And tonight, a life-threatening flash flood emergency. in southeast Texas. Cars and homes underwater outside Houston. The remnants of Tropical Storm Edouard dumping. nearly two feet of rain.

Here in Southeast Texas, you can see these roadways are. overtaken by floodwaters and now some cars are. just crawling by. this after at least five inches of rain fell here per hour. It's a real thunderstorm watch. from Pittsburgh to Williamsport. We're gearing up for storms here in New York. City later tonight, and we have several more days of. severe weather tomorrow. It's severe storms from Ohio to D. C. To Virginia and then dipping down into. North Carolina on Friday to southeast Texas and. still an organized remnants of Edouard, resilient, packing a. punch, flood warnings continue, rainfall totals topping over. 20 inches with rainfall rates 2 to 4 inches an hour, more.

The breaking headline outside Boston tonight, after five days. of deliberations, lay today what the jury told the judge. in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial and what this now means. Also tonight, reports a woman outside the courthouse allegedly. taking photos of the jurors. She's now been charged. Aaron Katersky at the courthouse tonight. After five days of deliberations, jurors in. the Lindsay Clancy trial came back late today,

only to reveal once again they're deadlocked. Saying after much deliberation, we are still unable to come. to a unanimous decision. The judge issued a formal instruction to press on. There is no reason to suppose that the case will ever be. submitted to 12 persons more intelligent, more impartial, or. more competent to decide that more or clear evidence will. be produced. The impasse left jurors looking solemn and subdued. Legal experts say they're likely struggling over.

the central question. They're having to wrestle with the concept of lack of. criminal responsibility and intentional premeditated acts. That's a lot for 12 people to get on the same page for. If they can't continue, Kevin, is that a victory? Do you consider it a victory? I don't think this case is a victory, period. It's a tragedy. A trial over a mother killing her three young. children is captivating and dividing the country. No, this was calculated, premeditated. She killed three of her children. Lindsay was not supposed to live to tell the tale, but she's.

here, and we have her back. The only debate that counts involves the nine. women and three men who have spent about 30. hours now deciding whether Clancy methodically. and intentionally killed her three children. or whether she cannot be culpable because of. postpartum psychosis. Tonight this woman, Dawn Light, is charged with trying to. intimidate the jurors by taking pictures of them outside court. The sanctity of the judicial system is at risk. because of her actions. It's an extremely serious matter for the Commonwealth. and the integrity of the proceedings.

The woman pleaded not guilty. Interesting tonight, David. This is the third straight day the jury asked for nothing. No evidence, no testimony, no clarification about the law. They seem to have everything they need to decide. They're just split. And if they stay that way, this case would be headed toward. a hung jury and a mistrial. David? Deadlocked and no. questions for that judge, Aaron Katersky, tonight. Aaron, thank you. Now to the war in Iran, the USS Lincoln finally docking in. Thailand, thousands of American sailors back on land.

No, no, no, not nearly long enough in. Thailand tonight. The Lincoln's commanding. officer, Captain Dan Keeler, was asked about that. Why don't they give some of. the comments from like the president saying that. the deployment wasn't nearly long enough? So the president speaks for. himself. That's what I think about that. In Tempe, Arizona, Kendra Carver. and Kelly Laddick, the parents of Trey Daniels, a. 20-year-old Navy airman on the Lincoln, did not hold back.

Imagine if you're, you know, Trey or any of the other 5,000. kids, and the president comes on and says that you haven't been. on the ship nearly long enough. Well, gee, how does that make you feel? You know, it's just terrible. messaging and frustrating. And tonight, President Trump's Commerce Secretary. Howard Lutnick making headlines when talking about. the war, saying, quote, "There haven't been American. deaths. Eighteen U.S. service members have lost their lives.". I think the way the president is playing Iran, right, there's not, there haven't been American deaths.

It's really just an economic choke out, which. the administration is now executing more broadly. And I think it'll be very effective. And David, we've reached out to the administration. about those comments, but so far no response. say show that mother helping her son cover. up his alleged murder of his girlfriend. Here's Morgan Norwood now. Tonight, chilling new details in the case of a. mother and her teenage son charged in the fatal. stabbing of his girlfriend, a college freshman. outside of Pittsburgh. Authorities releasing new evidence. This surveillance image they say shows Royce and. Rachel Moser after the killing. They say it's the son appearing to wear blue latex gloves. Other images appearing to show blood. in the trunk of the victim's SUV and discarded knives.

Prosecutors allege Royce lured Caroline Hines to. his home two weeks ago and stabbed her twice in her. vehicle, allegedly telling investigators he got angry, then had a demon take over him. Her body later found inside her Jeep parked just blocks from. Penn West California University. According to a police affidavit, the son. allegedly telling police his mom helped clean the car, wash his clothes and put the knives into a garbage bag. Tell us why you're sorry. My son took a life.

Prosecutors also say the son made a series. of online searches. What removes fingerprints from objects? And can an 18-year-old get the death penalty? And David, prosecutors say surveillance footage. and phone mapping tracked the pair to where. Hintz's body was found. Now to Tiger Woods in court, changing his plea to no contest. after his DUI crash in Florida. His driver's license now taken away for five years and the. judge telling him in court, "If you drive, you go to.

jail." Here's Victor Oquendo. Tonight, golf legend Tiger Woods taking a plea deal. following his rollover car crash and DUI arrest. The golf star losing his driver's license for five. years and avoiding jail time. Appearing before the judge to change his not. guilty plea to no contest. The state amending the DUI charge to reckless driving. The judge ordering Woods to pay $1,500 in fines and.

suspending his license. It all stems from this rollover crash in Florida six months ago. Who's involved? Who's involved? Tiger Woods. Oh, s***. In March, Woods clipped a landscaping truck, his Land. Rover rolling onto its side. Police body camera video showing Woods performing. a field sobriety test. How much have you had to drink today? Do you take any medication? I take a few, yes. but refused a urine test. Authorities declared Woods under the influence, later finding. these prescription pills in.
