in New York, this is World News Tonight. with David Muir. >> Good evening. We begin tonight with. breaking [music] news here. A man shot. and killed by ICE. His car at one point. going in circles in the street after. he'd been shot. Gunshots rattling the. neighborhood in Maine. Tonight. authorities say the man was on his way. to work when he was shot and killed by. ICE agents in Biddeford, Maine. His body. seen laying in the street. Multiple gunshots echoing through that. neighborhood. His car driving in those. slow circles until an officer was able.

to stop it. A photo showing the. windshield of the car riddled with. bullets. Tonight authorities say none of. the agents involved were wearing body. cameras. Tonight, why one of the agents. says he opened fire. Protesters now. demanding answers. And late today Maine. Senator Angus King says Homeland. Security has told him that the man who. was shot and killed was not the target. of their operation. Pierre Thomas. leading us off tonight. >> Tonight growing outrage after ICE agents. apparently shot and killed someone who. was not the target they were pursuing.

for the second time in less than a week. The latest shooting just after 7:00 a.m. this morning in Biddeford, Maine. Video. shows first responders surrounding a man. who lay motionless in the street. Moments earlier home cameras capturing. the sound of five gunshots. Video circulating online shows man's. white Kia after the shooting slowly. moving in a circle as an officer runs. and tries to open the driver's door.

Daniel Bouche says he saw agents pull. the driver out. >> Put him on the ground and I heard the. young man say I tried to stop. Clearly. heard him say that. I tried to stop or I. tried to pull over. >> Bouche says one ICE agent claimed the. man tried to run him over. >> I could no longer see any movement which. meant. that he had expired. His head was bloodied, his face was. bloodied. It was awful. It was awful. I. mean really really bad.

>> The car's windshield was riddled with. bullet holes. >> I don't know what he did but he didn't. deserve to be executed in the street. >> Maine Senator Angus King revealing today. the man killed was not the target of the. operation but that DHS claims he. weaponized his vehicle. >> And the question is what did he do with. his vehicle? Were officers threatened? Was the Were. the threats rising to the level that. justified deadly force? >> King says he was told none of the agents. involved were wearing body cameras. DHS.

says they're still rolling them out to. ICE agents across the country. Local. immigration advocates are now demanding. answers saying the 26-year-old man from. Colombia was authorized to work in the. US and was on his way to a job to. support his family. The shooting comes. just 6 days after an ICE agent in. Houston killed an undocumented immigrant. from Mexico. DHS later saying Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. was not the man ICE was looking for. >> David D. shooting comes as ICE is.

stepping up enforcement aiming to make. 2,000 arrests per day. >> Pierre Thomas leading us off here. tonight. Pierre, thank you. Also. breaking at this hour the US launching. new strikes tonight on Iran right now. And for the first time the US using sea. drones in these combat operations, targeting an Iranian submarine and ship. maintenance facility. Tonight, President. Trump reinstating his blockade on the. Strait of Hormuz, the price of oil. skyrocketing already this evening. And. the president now says the US will now. charge ships going into the strait. Mary.

A lot of. money. >> Before Trump launched this war, ships. were able to pass freely through the. strait without needing protection. Secretary of State Marco Rubio have. previously dismissed any talk of fees. >> No country is allowed to charge tolls or. fees on an international waterway. >> If Trump's fee goes into effect, a. massive oil tanker transporting 2. million barrels could soon have to pay. the US upwards of 32 million dollars.

That could cause oil and gas prices to. spike even further. They're already on. the rise. Gas now at $3.82. a gallon. Analysts say it could top four. bucks in a week. And David, you heard the president, he's. reimposing that blockade on Iranian. ports and wants to charge this 20% fee. Oil prices today spiking based on that. news up more than 9%. Flood watches still in place for parts. of Tennessee after neighborhoods near. Gatlinburg got inundated with up to a. half foot of rain and mudslides. And some 200 campers and counselors from. a camp along the Black River near. Lesterville, Missouri, are okay tonight.

The numbers could break records. from Fargo back to Rapid City. Syracuse. could go for a daily record at 98. And. then the heat focuses on the Northeast. We will have a legitimate heat wave,

meaning 3 days at 90 plus. The peak of. it is on Wednesday. Washington, D.C., could go to 100. Those again are the air. temperatures, so it'll feel even hotter. when you add the humidity. And then. tomorrow night, we've got a severe storm. forecast that already has Burlington, Vermont, to Caribou in a level three out. of five. This is a heads-up that you. could see damaging wind, even strong. tornadoes, and hail bigger than 2 inches. in diameter, David. >> Yeah, very unsettled week ahead here, Ginger. Thanks. A 65-year-old. grandfather running for his life flung. into the air. The minute that that bison. stood up, the grandfather's like, "We're. out of here." It happened Friday in the. height of the summer tourism season. Video first showing that bison inside a.

picnic area of the park. Bucking as dirt. rises around him. >> Look out, bison! >> Then running around tents and vehicles. as people flee. And as it stops to rest, that grandfather and his grandson taking. photos. That's when the buffalo stirs. and charges. Chasing that man around the. trees, the grandfather unable to escape. flipped 8 ft into the air. >> He was in a lot of pain and he was. trying to not move his leg, but his. immediate concern was for his grandson. >> That grandfather suffered multiple.

Tonight, the horrific images coming in. A massive deadly fire in Bangkok. At. least 28 people killed in a bar. And. there were reports tonight the doors. were blocked. Here's James Longman. >> A raging inferno at a Bangkok bar has.

left dozens dead tonight. Intense flames. blasting out the front door like a. blowtorch, roaring into the street. People running in every direction, desperate to escape. Some ducking under. the flames. There was panic and confusion inside as. many struggled to find the exits. Usa initially heard a boom saying many. inside had no way out. She used a chair. to break a bar window to find her. friends, but it was too late. They both.

died. Chilling video taken before the fire. shows a singer performing on stage, [music] known to be one of the 28 people. killed. Authorities believe the fire started. near that stage, sending many people. running to the back of the venue, where. they died. Officials say some exits were. blocked or inaccessible. >> David, an early report indicates a short. circuit in an air conditioning unit may. have sparked the fire and plastic. decorations on the ceiling might have. fueled it. More than 20 people are in.

critical condition in the hospital. David. >> The horrific images from Bangkok. tonight, James. Thank you. Nolan Wells who was with the 18-year-old. on that isolated barrier island off the. Mississippi Gulf Coast, July 4th, the. last day Wells was seen alive. >> It just it breaks our heart that we.

can't even fully grieve our friend. because we're scared. >> Tristan Shepherd says he and his friends. are now getting threats and he declined. to speak with us on camera, but he. addressed this social media video that's. part of the investigation. Shepherd says he's the one heard arguing. from the boat, not Wells. >> That's the video I'm referring to and I. that's me yelling. >> Shepherd says he took a boat back from. Horn Island in the late afternoon, but. Wells stayed behind with a girl he had. met. Wells did not have his phone, but.

his friend tells us that's not unusual. while swimming. >> When Nolan got in the water, he put his. phone on the dash also with probably. other 15 phones. >> His parents say Nolan Wells went nowhere. without his phone, but on July 4th, he. left it behind in the boat. We're in. about 2-3 ft of water and so people hop. over the edge and swim TO SHORE. >> NOLAN WELLS! >> THE community is clamoring for answers. >> Are you on any timetable here? >> I think it's important that we don't put. ourselves on a timetable. It's important.

to be diligent in gathering all the. facts. That's what the family deserves. >> We're also learning tonight, David, the. local district attorney is involved in. the case, though so far there's no. evidence to suggest what happened to.
