We begin tonight with. what authorities say are. life-threatening storms moving in right. across several states at this hour. Dallas all the way up to Detroit tonight. and then this whole system moves right. into the east. We have just learned a. tornado watch has been issued for three. states as we come on tonight. Texas,

Oklahoma, and Kansas. Now, this system. pushing out of the Rockies, severe. storms and possible tornadoes moving in. across the Midwest and the South. Damaging winds and a very dangerous. flash flood threat. These storms. targeting many of the same areas still. reeling from the deadly storms that just. moved through. Tornadoes and heavy. winds. This roof ripped off a home in. Jackson, Michigan. A Ring camera. capturing the storms blowing through. Conway, South Carolina. Wind gusts up to. 60 m an hour. Now, these new storms. moving in for millions tonight. Chief. Meteorologist Lee Goldberg of WABC.

leading us off tonight to time this out. And Lee, this could be a dangerous night. ahead. David, those radars across the plains. are already starting to come to life as. showers develop. And we have that. tornado watch you talked about. It's a. severe weather outbreak and a major. flood event backto back. Look at all the. alerts from the west coast into the. heartland. Whether it's winter or wind. or tornado, fire, flood all across. twothirds of the country. Tonight, it's. across the plains from Abalene to Omaha. But the greatest threat from Oklahoma. City to Kansas City and multiple rounds.

of storms overnight. Now, the biggest. threat for severe weather comes. tomorrow. That's from Dallas to Detroit. But that area in red is it was upgraded. today to a moderate risk. That's a level. four out of five. That's the greatest. threat for strong tornadoes, destructive. winds, and large hail. And there could. be multiple rounds of that. Then the. system puts on the brakes. So Wednesday. through Sunday, we could have extreme. rainfall totals, widespread area of 6 to. 10 inches from Arkansas to Ohio, maybe. over a foot of rain that could arrive. here in the northeast with some rain as. well. here tonight. Lee, we appreciate it. We. turned now to the breaking news just. coming in. A harrowing scene. Authorities say a gunman opening fire, a. deadly pharmacy shooting. Authorities. say he was angry with pharmacies. And it. all comes as the suspect in the murder. of the United Healthcare CEO is also in. the news tonight. US Attorney General. Pam Bondi now seeking the death penalty. against Luigi Manion. ABC's chief. investigative correspondent Aaron Kurski. tonight with the images from this deadly. pharmacy shooting just coming in. Tonight, police in California are. investigating a deadly shooting.

targeting a major pharmacy chain after. this man allegedly shot a Walgreens. employee. The suspect, Narcisio Gallardo. Fernandez, is seen, police say, shooting. at this surveillance camera inside the. store where he allegedly shot and killed. employee Eric Velasquez and opened fire. on other workers as they fled outside. A. customer inside hiding in the store. bathroom. When they arrived, they found. Narcissisio out front, the suspect who. was reloading his handgun at his. vehicle. But they say the suspect did.

not know the employee he killed. We do. know he has a general disdain or grudge. againstarmacies, large-scalearmacies. um by statements made. That is one of. the reasons why Walgreens was selected. Law enforcement officials around the. country have warned of the potential for. violence after the assassination style. killing of United Healthcare Chief Brian. Thompson. Tonight, Attorney General Pam. Bondi announced that Thompson's alleged. killer, Luigi Manioni, would face the. death penalty if convicted. And as for.

that California shooting, David, the. suspect was arrested outside in the. parking lot of the Walgreens. He has not. yet been charged, but prosecutors say. murder charges are expected as soon as. tomorrow. David, Aaron Kurski with us. here tonight. Several pedestrians have been. hit by an outofcrol truck jumping the. curb, hitting those pedestrians, and. then smashing into a restaurant. Here's. Trevor Al. I hope it's still alive, though. Tonight, a terrifying scene in. downtown Boston. The truck is rolled.

over. There's a lot of people injured on. the ground. This box truck plowing into. pedestrians just before 1 this afternoon. in the Chinatown neighborhood, barreling. through multiple power poles, crashing. into a restaurant, landing on its side. The cab wrapped around the light pole, the restaurant's window shattered. Chris. Sullivan was out getting lunch. We. thought, well, maybe a bike crossed in. front of him or something. I don't know. It looks like we, you know, we weren't. really sure, but I mean, I just like. walked through there like literally 10. seconds before it happened. This.

surveillance video showing the Pensky. rental truck begin to veer onto the. sidewalk. This easily could have been um. a far worse circumstance given the time. of day and how many people tend to be in. this area at the time. David, so far officials say they don't. believe this was suspicious or. intentional. They're investigating. whether the driver may have had a. medical emergency. David, Trevor with us. as well. world this week. Economists say this. will likely hike prices right here in. the US. We're also following tonight. these massive new federal firings. This. time, federal workers at the FDA, the. CDC, among other health agencies. Here's. our chief White House correspondent, Mary Bruce. Tonight, the nation and the. world bracing for what President Trump. calls Liberation Day. In less than 24. hours, the president set to reveal. tariffs targeting America's trading. partners, which could upend the global. economy. They're reciprocal, so whatever.

they charge us, we charge them. The. scale and targets of Trump's tariffs. still unclear, but economists warn the. cost to American consumers could be. steep. Tariffs are taxes on imported. products paid by American businesses who. then raise prices for. consumers. The president says his goal. is to bring manufacturing back to the. US. Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, a marathon. protest of the president's policies. A. new poll from the Associated Press shows.

58% of Americans disapprove of his. handling of the nation's economy with. 40% approving. The senator from New. Jersey, Democratic Senator Cory Booker. of New Jersey, taking to the Senate. floor for over 20 hours, speaking out. against the Trump administration and. what he calls a nation in crisis. Crawford cast this race as a referendum. on Trump. This is about our Supreme. Court. It is about our rights and it's. about our state. And we're not going to. let Elon Musk take any of that away from. us. So, are you with me? Let me first hand out two $1 million.

checks. In the final days, Musk upping. the ante personally handing out two $1. million checks. But 69-year-old Julie. Helmrich says that could backfire. I. don't care if I loved that judge. Authorities in Costa Rica tonight say. they have now discovered high levels of. carbon monoxide near the family's hotel. room. Here's Ariel Rechev. Tonight, new details in the sudden death. of baseball star Brett Gardner's. 14-year-old son, Miller, while on a. family vacation in Costa Rica. Investigators in a specialized unit. saying there were high levels of carbon.

monoxide contamination near the hotel. room where Miller was staying. Authorities noting a machine closet. nearby which could have emitted the. deadly gas potentially causing the. incident. The night before Miller's. death nearly two weeks ago, the Arenus. Delmare Resort saying it dispatched a. medical team to tend to multiple. Gardener family members after they fell. ill. Salvadorian man, Kilmar Armando Arbrego. Garcia, identified in these prison video. screen grabs by his US citizen wife, are.

petitioning for his immediate return. They say Abrego Garcia was removed. against a 2019 judge's order, preventing. him from being sent back to his home. country. The White House though. acknowledging the oversight. unapologetic. It was an administrative. error. The administration maintains the. position that this individual who was. deported to El Salvador and will not be. returning to our country was a member of. the brutal and vicious MS-13 gang. Garcia's family says he's no gang member.

and have heard nothing about his. condition for weeks, saying this has. been quote a nightmare. On March 12th, Abrego Garcia was stopped by ICE. officers in Maryland where he lives with. his wife Jennifer and 5-year-old son who. has autism. He ended up on one of these. three flights deporting alleged violent. gang members to El Salvador on March. 15th. David, the Justice Department. argues there's little it can do to get. this man back from El Salvador. A. hearing on the case is set for Friday.
